Description

Beautiful village location, complete with wood-burning stove, this holiday cottage is close to Padstow, Port Isaac and Tintagel, mythical home of King Arthur.

This detached holiday cottage sits proudly at the head of one of the most beautiful villages on the edge of Bodmin Moor. With its woodburner and galleried bedroom, the cottage is well furnished and has a small sitting out area to the front. Just yards away is the village pub which was a CAMRA pub of the year winner. Close by is the Camel Trail, a cycle and walking trail that runs along a disused railway track through to the market town of Wadebridge and alongside the Camel Estuary to Padstow. Close by are the fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, and Tintagel which is the mythical home of King Arthur. Also within easy reach is the world famous Eden Project. Shop 200 yards, pub 20 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Kitchen/dining room. Shower room with toilet. Spiral staircase. 1 double (5ft) galleried bedroom with beams.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Fridge/freezer. Small sitting-out area with furniture. On road parking. No smoking.

Great cottage in friendly village and very close to local pub. We found the spiral staircase to the sleeping loft quite difficult to negotiate with luggage. There was also no designated parking space at the cottage and we had to park a distance away some nights.

Loved the cottage and the village with lots to do with a little drive. Food and hospitality at the local pub ,The Blisland Inn was excellent . The cottage is very quaint and well equipped but if going for more than 1 week would recommend taking your own bedding as it is only supplied for the first there after you either use the washer/ drier or continue using those supplied . The biggest issue we had was parking it is advertised as "parking for 2 cars " was this in Outer Mongolia !! Having said this we really enjoyed our stay

This cottage is in a great location. Great for a couple and dogs. Well equipped and very roomy. Spiral staircase is a challenge, especially at night. The green makes up for the lack of garden and the pub that close, well, you love it or hate it. We loved it and didnt find it noisey late on at all.

Lovely cottage and a nice friendly pub just across the road would probably go back.

Lovely character cottage right on the village green. Everything you could need was provided and a few nice touches, such as flowers, biscuits, DVDs and milk in the fridge. The pub opposite the cottage serves excellent food and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The cottage is in a good position to visit all the things Cornwall has offer. Beach at Bedruthan is stunning and Lanhydrock is well worth a visit. The green behind the cottage is lovely if you have dogs or small children as there are swings and benches and very little traffic. It gets a little busy just outside the cottage in the evening as people visit the pub but it's just a few cars coming and going. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a peaceful break in a beautiful village.

Revisiting the Cottage on the Green was a delight - everything was just how we remembered it. The nearby pub was even better than before. Only problem was the major roadworks on the A30, closing off many access roads to the village - causing a single-track road to be overloaded with diverted traffic. Unfortunately these works are scheduled to last for another 18 months to 2 years.
