The Cottage provided a delightful short break for three couples who had been friends for many years. Sarah gave us such a warm welcome (especially the lemon cake!), despite being very busy with the lambing season. The cottage was cosy and comfortable to come back to after days out - and everything seems to have been thought of to make it 'home from home'! We all loved it - perfect in every way!

This is one of the highest quality cottages that we have ever stayed in, extremely comfortable and warm, even in February. The owners are very helpful and friendly without being intrusive......making a wonderful sponge cake!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Having built The Cottage ourselves, your positive comments mean a lot to us. It was a pleasure to have you as our guests and neighbours for the week.

Lovely welcoming hosts! Cottage had everything needed for our week away, kitchen was fully equiped. Beds and furniture lovely and comfortable. Garden lovely and quiet, our children 6, 8 and 12 were outside all the time! Woodburner was welcomed when the evening got cooler, but all in all the cottage was a comfortable temperature. Lots of books, games and dvds to keep the children entertained on wetter days. We will definitely be back again!

We had a great time at the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it's a dream cottage, typically home from home. Sarah and Martin were very nice and made us feel very comfortable and even supplied a wonderful cake, pot of tea and bottle of wine to get us started. We came away with wonderful memories and highly recommend this cottage.

This is a beautiful cottage set in idyllic countryside. It is spacious, comfortable and very well-equipped - everything has been thought of to provide a lovely holiday home. The weather was cool for the time of year, but everywhere inside was warm and cosy. The garden is very attractive with lovely views of the hills. We have been staying in country cottages for over thirty years and this is easily one of the best. The owners, Sarah and Mike, are very friendly and welcoming . When we arrived, the kettle had been boiled and there was a delicious home-baked Victoria sponge waiting for us. It was the best we have ever tasted! It was great to see the workings of the farm and we enjoyed watching the orphan lambs being fed. We also loved Mist, the gorgeous farm dog, who often greeted us when we returned each day. A wonderful holiday!
