Our 4th visit to this wonderful cottage, which is home away from home. From the home made cakes on arrival, the friendliness of Sarah and Mike, the creature comforts including corner bath in the main bathroom, decent sized shower in the ensuite, wood burner in the main room, and well equipped kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, it would be quite easy to live here permanently. It does have it's own climate, and despite visiting in June each time, we have usually ended up getting very wet at some part of the break, so waterproofs are essential for those who enjoy getting out and about. The cottage is remote, and transport is required to visit the local shops, pubs and eateries; wide vehicles will have slight problems negotiating the narrow lane to the cottage from either direction. However this remoteness does mean it is lovely and quiet, and although located on a working farm, it is very peaceful and tranquil. We love it and will be going back again.

the cottage was very clean and very well finished however the kitchen equipment was not. We left feedback at the cottage but the kitchen was very ill-equipped. All the cupboards were empty, there were only 4 glass tumblers (in a 6-person cottage), basic cooking utensils e.g. no storage containers, no mixing bowels, baking equipment, ice cube tray, rolling pin etc. These items are standard kitchen equipment and surely the property must have them. The cottage also sleeps 6, although there were only 2 people in our party, the owner had only left 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels out. We had to ask for additional towels which were provided but again these should have been provided as we did not get a discount because only 2 people were in the cottage!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are very sorry our guests were unable to locate the items they wanted to enjoy their holiday to the full. The kitchen is fully equipped with glasses, mixing bowls, storage containers and ice cube tray with 2 cupboards left empty for food storage. Following our guests suggestion, baking tins and a rolling pin will also now be provided. As regards towels, we provide towels per person to reduce unnecessary washing and drying since our cottage is included in the Green Scheme. Additional towels are always provided with pleasure on request.

The cottage was very well equipped and it was a home from home and so lovely. The owners popped the kettle on for when we arrived and there was freshly made scones, cream and jam, a lovely welcome surprise and very delicious. We were on holiday with my 8 months old grandson, the cottage was very safe for him crawling around, there was a highchair, a lovely cot and loads of baby toys, there was even a baby towel for bath time. We were all so impressed and would highly recommend this property. This property is very remote, very peaceful and very lovely.

Anyone looking for a country break away from town life could find no better place than The Cottage Treborough. It's a gorgeous cottage on a working farm and is an ideal place with wonderful welcoming owners. Our family of 4 adults and 2 small children loved it there.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage. The setting is so tranquil and in a beautiful location. The cottage itself is very comfortable, and superbly well finished. I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed!

We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage. The homemade cakes on arrival was a lovely thought and very welcome after being stuck on the M5! The cottage was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. The weather was awful but we enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and the log fire definitely added to the cosiness of the cottage. It is situated a little off the beaten track but this was fine for us and we did manage to get out for a walk once it had raining. The area is beautiful and as we have family living in Minehead we would definitely stay at The Cottage again and would have no reservations about recommending it. It was a perfect winter get-away and so lovely to switch off for a while.

This was our second trip to the cottage...and we will definitely be back! We love that it is absolutely a home away from home. Everything has been thought of for your comfort and ease. You can relax from the moment you arrive. Wonderful hosts, beautiful location. If you want a real break away this is it. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Hard to fault the standards of this cottage - very roomy, fab décor with every homely touch imaginable and wonderful hosts. If we have any reservations to note they are relatively minor: the garden was rather windy and cool (pesky British weather!) and the walk to the pub is definitely not for the faint-hearted! That aside, the cottage is a wonderful getaway from the chaos of modern life, plenty big enough for three adults, a teenager and two large dogs (properly dog-friendly garden which was vital), lots of entertainment within the cottage for (all!) those rainy days and even Tesco managed a problem free delivery which was a bonus! Would certainly put this on your list of potential holiday stays as I don't think it will let you down.

From the very start we were made to feel so welcome with tea laid on for when we arrived. Both owners were helpful with any questions we had, nothing was to much trouble. The Cottage was stunning and what a lovely touch to have the photographs of how the cottage came to be. The place was cosy and comfortable, very clean, we had everything we needed. We also appreciated the friendliness of the sheepdog and his willingness to have lots of love. We would very highly recommend staying here and we hope to book again soon.
