Fab wee cottage for a chilled break. Much better than it looked in the pictures. It felt isolated yet wine was always accessible. Our dog loved the garden.

We stayed here for 7 nights, our first time on the East Coast with our 3 dogs,,,the cottage was very characteristic,,cosy and clean,,the beach was within walking distance if u like a long walk which we do,,,the pub and local shop was within a short walking distance,,ideal location to access other areas of interest,,ie,,Lunan Bay,,Aberdeen,,Arbroath,,the only issue we had was the wild garden which was partcially enclosed.Having 3 very small dogs it was very easy to lose them in the garden and felt the garden was too wild and overgrown.2 trees at the side completely blocked out the sun which limited where u can sit as did the wild garden which is a shame as this is one of the best cottages we have ever rented.Finding a cottage with a fully enclosed garden is very difficult and a few simple adaptations would make this cottage perfect.

Loved our stay as always, the new bed was very comfortable. The cottage is so welcoming as soon as we open the door and has everything we need. Perfect for a few days escape. Only criticism: the £25 charge per dog where many other cottages still allow dogs for free.

We were blessed with a week of sunshine so we could sit in a sheltered spot outside. Cottage dark and gloomy. Shop and beach were not, as stated ,within walking distance . It would be better if when dealing with distance specific lengths were used rather than vague "walking distance" as older people like us do not walk like the young

Cottage was fine. No complaints but it is tired and needs work. The two main issues are; 1 - The bed, it is a very small double, old and very squeaky; not good. 2 - The garden is a dangerous and not just the pond in the front garden the back may be a wild garden but it is also full of dangerous old scrap which is deadly sharp and panes of sharp edged glass, broken pots and other scrap metal items. It is not fenced from the road either so pets and children cannot play in there.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The garden has been tidied up and there has never been broken glass or any danger to animals. The pond has been clearly marked.

This is our 4th visit to this cottage and it is worth the 8 hour drive to get there. The cottage is very homely and in a peaceful location, and our dogs love it. It is close to dog friendly beaches, St Cyrus and Lunan Bay are beautiful. Our only issues are the following: 1)The handheld vacuum cleaner is broken and needs replacing. 2) It would be welcome to find a few tea bags and coffee in the cottage on arrival, so that you won't have to unpack everything before you can have a drink! 3) We feel that the newly-introduced charge of £25 per dog is a bit harsh and excessive. On previous visits we have always cleaned up thoroughly after our dogs, and I'm sure most other dog owners do the same, so an extra £50 added to our bill this time we found rather unfair. Despite this, we have already booked again for next year as we love the place so much.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, it was warm and cosy with a lovely wood burner which made staying in at night essential. Although not modern it was exactly the kind of cottage we love to stay in and would return again without hesitation.

we spent 4 nights inc. dog in February. We found the Cottage easily. St. Cyrus is a lovely village. The creaky bed is in keeping with the age of the property. Loved the feel of the cottage, we were comfy & relaxed every evening.
