The building shown in picture is only half that for each rental. Too many problems. dishwasher broken, grubby kettle had to be replaced as needing switch held down to boil it. Oven not clean. Welcome tray looked a bit past its sell by date, rather dusty on everything and definitely not welcoming. Big concern about escape route blocked from bedroom if kitchen and living were on fire. Builders yard had all these railings blocking an exit to try and clamber over or get past. No good in daylight but if elderly and in the night add on panic, does not bear thinking about. Plastic film was put over outside of window after mentioned, by pub people so we could not see outside and be offended by it all!! Accommodation is in pub car park, did we misread that as we thought it was near bybut not that near and the shared garden was on the over side of the car park with the customers.Yob noise friday and saturday pub emptying nights. hunting dog barking gone 1 am twice other nights. think they belonged to our neighbours and slept in a trailer. Even found questionable stains on mattress when we stripped bed at end of stay to help the lady as being one job less for her, and we had laid on for a week and there was no mattress protection so they are permanant....shudder... The lady from the pub was trying to do everything and seemed may be was just too busy to get it cleaned well in quick turn around. . No freezer box in fridge which if one self caters they need. Our meats had to go in pub freezer. Builder noise early morning 7.30 and often throughout day cutting metal and banging when we were in residence. If just one problem we would have gritted our teeth but this all went badly wrong and we were glad to get off home again. Not helped when we both went down with horrible colds and cough. I have tried to mark a fair score rather then all doom and gloom. would have loved to given a good score but I need to be honest. The hot water took an age in kitchen to come through the combi , it seemed wasteful running it down the sink so long until warms up, so boiled kettles for that use, otherwise nice and hot water in bathroom and heating easy to use too, sofas old and 1 tilted back a lot and not sure about the gnawed by dog scruffy table box.. we are not dog owners but aware it was a dog friendly rental. But, it was not even shabby chic just shabby. We had booked this place after choosing the area first then because it had a dishwasher, bathroom on same floor as bedroom and I think there was mentioned a peaceful location. Enough dishes etc, maybe a few more t- spoons and a veg knife. we always bring a lidded casserole and foil and glad this time to cover our food whilst cooking! maybe 2 T towels and cloths as they soon build up with bacteria, again old ones come with us as normally needed.

It was a real nice cottage. Only the matrasses in the beds downstairs were really bad and the couch was very uncomfortable to sit on

The cottage was smaller than we imagined and the furnishings were in need of an upgrade; consequently it was not particularly comfortable. The mattresses were very soft and really need replacing, on one of them we could actually feel the springs. Both the sofas were in need of replacement. A cottage holiday is one where you expect to be as comfortable as possible away from home and unfortunately this was not the case for us. We understand that a refurb is due for next season. It was brilliant that we were able to take our old dog with us and she really enjoyed it, and we weren't charged extra for her which is a really good plus point, however, disappointingly there was no back garden that we could let her out onto. In fact the only entrance and egress was directly onto the car park of the pub that the cottage was built on. The view from the ground floor bedroom was a work site. In effect if you weren't out and about enjoying the wonderful British countryside and wanted to take advantage of the sun then other than going over to the pub itself the only alternative was to sit on a dining chair at the cottage door watching the punters arrive and leave!. The landlord of the pub was welcoming and everyone did everything they could to help us. The pub on site had its advantages and we were never far from a drink! The food it offered in the restaurant was first class if a little on the pricey side. We would go so far as to say that in some respects this was the best pub food we have ever eaten and we told the chef this too. We enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the many things there are to see and visit around and about the New Forest, our hosts were very nice but the cottage itself was a little disappointing. hopefully some of the things that we mention can be addressed for next season, unfortunately some won't be able to be and the lack of garden or somewhere to sit outdoors in the evening enjoying a drink and a little privacy means that we won't revisit this cottage again. We may revisit the restaurant though if we are ever back in the area! Cleaning equipment includinf a vacuum and a sweeping brush would have been welcomed

Massive disappointment. On arrival we opened the door to be greeted by the overwhelming smell of wet dog. The carpets and flooring had, although swept /hoovered, were dirty and it was obviously they had not been cleaned after the last visitors. The door way to the property had three dirty and muddy mats, and there were weeds growing around it. There was a traffic cone dumped at the door way. There is insufficient wardrobe space for one person, let alone a family. The sofas are uncomfortable and have seen better days. The cottage has potential to be nice, but it needs a good clean and freshen up. Will not be returning to White Wing. For the money that this cost there will be nicer places available. Don't be fooled by the photographs , these were taken before its sad decline.

The picture mis represents the cottage, as it is only half the width of the picture. The. Curtains in the lounge area do not fit the windows. There were cobwebs hanging in the window of the twinbedded room, light bulbs out in the bathroom and kitchen. The bedding did not fit the bed in the twin bedded room. There needs to be a dedicated parking space for Cottage use as difficult to park when pub is busy.

This cottage was smaller than it looked on the website. The only bathroom was accessible through the master bedroom. Outside space was non existent as it was part of the pub carpark other than a 2foot wide 'patio' which was not clean. It was well equipped and beds very comfortable.

We stayed in White Wing for 4 nights. It had everything we required including clean bedding and plenty of towels. It was a little dusty and had some cheeky cobwebs in places (which we left) but this only added to it's charm! Kitchen is adequate but no storage for your food I should add. Absolutely perfect for what we needed, more than we expected. Nothing too negative to say, however would advise the owners to perhaps invest in a new mattress for the double bed.

We have stayed here once before and it is an excellent location for the New Forest. All the staff are extremely helpful and polite and the food is absolutely amazing. Our two dogs love the staff and they gave them a treat every time we ate so they were most happy. Just want to add that we will definitely be returning as this is our go to retreat from now on.
