Although we only used the Coach house as a base, we thoroughly enjoyed coming back to the peace and quiet, after being out all day! We did spend one day walking around the grounds, which was well worth it! We had good food at the local pub, which was only five minutes away. A brilliant place to stay!

Our 4th stay and we will definitely be back! We love the peaceful location but it's perfect for visiting local attractions and landmarks. The cottage itself is like a home from home, with everything you need. A welcome bottle of wine is in the fridge ready for your arrival along with a bottle of milk. Looking forward to going back as soon as possible.

Very nice spot to stay for a week in this lovely country sites. Opposite our first visit in 2001, we found no warm welcome at our arrival and we had trouble with the noise of the drainage pump. We mentioned this to the owners (like the previous visitors did in the suggestion book as well) one of them was ill at the time and grumpy (what we understand), but they only came back on this issue by an almost onreadable note on the table somewhere in the middle of the week. We consider that the cleaning might be better, especially underneath the upper cupboards in the kitchen and the black spots in the showers/bathroom. We know there are many possible solutions for that last mentioned.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We spoke to these guests on numerous occasions. We explained that a plumber had been called and we also left a note to this effect. The noise, which was intermittent and therefore hard to diagnose, is now fixed. My husband was very ill that week and I was away for work. He tried his best to deal with the issues despite feeling shocking. We are very proud of our cleanliness and have had no previous complaints.

Lovely secluded little cottage everything needed to chill out. Park & ride close by so visit to Edinburgh stress less. Local pub very good food excellent. Everyone we met who were connected with the cottage or pub we found to be friendly welcoming and helpful. Great place if you like walking.

We were looking for a relaxing few days & that's what we got. The house is warm, well equipped & perfect for walking or just chilling. The owner was helpful & welcoming but the cottage is also private & secluded, so there's no noise from traffic or people walking by. The donkey & shetland were a bonus & always willing to say hello if you have a few carrots on you!
