Scottish Country Cottages

From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

This 19th-century stone property is an ideal propert for that family holiday, with activities in the area for all ages.

In the heart of Perthshire, nestling quietly on a private, 1,200-acre estate in the mighty Tay Valley, these four very comfortable holiday cottages enjoy far-reaching views over a patchwork of farm and woodland. Laundry Cottage and Dunmore Bothy are both detached, single-storey cottages, whilst Stable Cottage, also single-storey, adjoins The Coach House, an impressive, 19th-century stone building retaining many of its original features. These smart colour co-ordinated properties have been furnished with rich luxury curtains and soft furnishing and each property has its own garden; visitors have access to a network of over 6 miles of private estate roads covering the extensive grounds, which include a fold of highland cattle, and two small lochs, home to wild ducks and geese. Boat trips can be arranged to fish for brown trout, as well as angling on the River Tay, with some of Scotland’s finest salmon fishing.
At the nearby Loch of Lowes, a visit to the bird hides is often rewarded by sightings of osprey soaring high overhead. Historic Dunkeld village (3 miles) is one of Perthshire’s gems, with a part-ruined cathedral, good shops and restaurants. Perth, 16 miles, offers large areas of green parkland, where sports matches, boating and putting can be enjoyed. The town boasts numerous museums and art galleries, including the museum of the Black Watch, housed in Balhousie Castle. Edinburgh and Aberdeen within 90 minutes’ drive.
Glasgow is also within driving distance and is a paradise for art lovers – the many museums include the Gallery of Modern Art, the Mackintosh Interpretation Centre and the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery. More unusual attractions include the Transport Museum, the Botanic Gardens and The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour. Shops 3 miles.

A two-storey, completely self-contained part of the Stables complex, renovated to a high standard. Attractive sitting-room with open fire in traditional cast iron fireplace. Spacious well fitted kitchen/dining room with countryside views. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Double bedroom (5ft bed) with ornamental fireplace leading to twin bedroom. Further twin bedroom.

The only thing I can find fault with was not being able to let the dogs off the leads Which is of course understandable due yo the location with the birds for the shoot The walks were beautiful but the dogs were pulling our arms off !!!! Spaniels and pheasants !!! You can imagine Not a complaint really just something to consider if you stay with dogs who aren't usually on leads like ours Everything else was perfect

Fab property, well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Only downside is lack of mobile phone signal in the area and the WiFi rarely connected other than that it was brilliant and would definitely use the cottage again .

Excellent location. Friendly unobtrusive support. a wonderful area with bags of things to do. A beautiful setting withn red squirrells occasionally appearing on the branches of the tree just in front of the house. Lovely. Great tracks to walk on in the grounds of the estate.
