Lying in a conservation area in the heart of the Cotswolds offering spacious, elegantly furnished accommodation.

Standing alone, within the lovely garden of a 17th-century Grade II listed house in the village, and originally part of the nearby Shipton Court Estate (one of the largest Jacobean houses in the country dating from 1603), this charming, refurbished Coach House lies within a conservation area in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It offers cosy and spacious holiday accommodation, and its own peaceful garden. Set in the heart of the Cotswolds and on the edge of the village, it is both secluded and secure. Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are all close by, and Cirencester, Cheltenham, Stratford and Oxford all less than an hour away. Good restaurants, theatre, walking, antiques, riding, racing (Cheltenham Gold Cup), historic houses, together with golf, gardens and fishing are all easily accessible. Shop 1 mile, nearest of three village pubs, 100 yards.

Good sized, elegantly furnished, comfortable living/dining room with antiques, wood-burning stove and two sets of French doors to delightful courtyard garden. Kitchen. Cloakroom and toilet. A cosy cottage in a quiet location. Needs a little updating but owner is replacing fridge/freezer. Shower over bath would be difficult for anyone over 5ft. 4in as ceiling slopes reducing head room. Bed very comfortable and linen lovely, sofa and chairs also comfy. There is Wi-Fi in the property but sometimes limited reception. We appreciated the bottle of wine and fruit left for us by the owner. The local Inn approx. 100 yards down the lane is well worth a visit (or 2 or 3 ) good food, good value and no worries about driving home.

Great location for what we wanted to see while in the area.. Lovely cottage with everything we needed except maybe a D.V.D player would have been useful for daughter to watch her discs on, but a small thing in the grand scheme of things.. Would definitely consider same cottage again .. We were sad to leave after such a good week in the area. Thank you..

The owner/contact person did not return our calls on the tenancy start date. We had considerable difficulty finding someone to provide the keys. We eventually were directed to a hiding place in the garden of the property. The written info on the property is thorough but a personal introduction to the property would have helped sort out subsequent problems with the hot water service and the central heating. We were international visitors so were unfamiliar with these systems which failed twice. The garden was delightful and the cottage reasonably comfortable. Parts of the kitchen and equipment were not well presented. Cracked and chipped crockery, stained pots and greasy oven trays are some examples. The owner also left notes warning against use of linen or internet services which was an additional irritation. Overall an experience we would prefer not to repeat.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We were away for two weeks and we arranged for a cleaner to be in touch with the arrival of the guests, unfortunately it didn’t happen. It couldn’t have been worse for two people coming from Australia. I think they were amazing in finding a person who did know where the keys were. When we came home the day after these guests had arrived, my wife immediately went to see them and obviously profusely apologised when she heard what had happened. It was understandable that they were very upset. The comments in the visitor’s book are overwhelmingly positive. Indeed you will see that one couple have recently stayed for a fortnight for a second time.
