Description

Located on the beautiful Brendon Hills within a four acre plot and further access to over 60 acres of farmland! A quality coach house for six.

This 19th-century Coach House, once part of a country house estate, is attached to a small annex and still retains many original features. Set in 4 acres of grounds within the owner’s 60 acre farm, situated on the beautiful Brendon Hills, it is close to Wimbleball Lake, which is renowned for its fly fishing, sailing, rowing and hosting the famous Ironman Triathlon every year. Haddon Hill offers wonderful moorland walks and the West Somerset coast is only 15 minutes away, offering stunning scenery and the fossil beach at Kilve. The pretty country village of Dulverton is a 10-minute drive, and the medieval village of Dunster with its castle is another popular local attraction. Exmoor National Park was designated as the first Dark Sky reserve in Europe. The property is ideal for exploring Exmoor, activity holidays or walking/training your dogs who are always welcome at the Coach House at no extra cost. Upton has some excellent pubs, restuarants and tearooms and some lovely quaint village shops selling local produce. Shop 7 miles, pub 3 miles.

Great cottage - very nice to have all three bedrooms En suite. Lovely wood burner and everything you could need kitchen wise - and an extra kitchen with washing machine too. Owners very friendly and helpful too. Our holiday was cut short by the recent snow, unfortunately, but we enjoyed the time we were there. Only real criticism the living room furniture was very low, which I struggled with, but my young fri nds didn’t mind at all! All in all, I’d definitely return to the Coach House.

Lovely cottage. Nicely decorated and very homely. We especially liked the fact that all the rooms could be made into king-sized beds so meant no-one in our party had to compromise with a single or twin bedroom. Main bedroom also had plenty of floor-space for travel cot (or in our case a kids travel bed!) Enjoyed cooking on oil-fired aga but glad that a normal hob and oven was available!! In a remote position which comes with it's own advantages and disadvantages. We enjoyed it but narrow lanes in all directions getting to The Coach House. Small suggestion: could do with more side tables. 2 bedrooms didn't have any bedside table other than a tall-boy chest and lounge needed more coffee tables. Lovely stay and our 3 year old now loves table tennis!!

Perfect getaway cottage. Remote so no light or noise pollution. Owners lovely and non intrusive but there for any assistance. All bedrooms with own en suite bathrooms so this is ideal for families or groups of friends. Plenty of space in the cottage with two kitchens and two large living rooms. In the barn there is a table tennis table for the competitive types. Under floor heating downstairs and log burner makes this cottage also ideal for winter months. Books and games provided made a nice touch and seemed very homely. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay again.

Fabulous stay . One of the best cottages we have stayed at. Dark sky at night makes star gazing a bonus.

All the family (5 adults + 1 toddler + 5 dogs) loved the area The house was lovely , comfortable and accommodating for dogs and a toddler, with the outside area ideal for a toddler to play safely in. The kitchen would benefit greatly with an large american style fridge and a family sized dishwasher instead of the current small ones. These items would accommodate a family better.

Lovely cottage a short walk from Wimbleball lake - you'll have to drive for everything else though. Cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.
