Lovely cottage. Has all essentials you need. A welcome pack of bread, milk eggs and butter were provided. Lovely secure garden and the owners have now filled in the small pond, so no worries with small children and pets. As with most cottages, the ceilings can be a bit low for tall people. This was only a problem in the bedrooms as the ceiling slopes. A beautiful part of the world and would certainly go back to this cottage again.

A very nice cottage, in a great location. Three pubs within a short walk which is great. Also just a few minutes to get onto the coastal path with the dogs and if you head up Golden Cap you get some tremendous views. Dogs are not allowed on Seatown beach which we did not realise before we booked. So we couldn't take our dogs on the beach but it seemed some people just ignored the rule. Traffic noise mentioned in another review is not, from our point of view an issue. It's not hugely noticeable and as Chideock seems to be a bottle neck for the A35, the traffic is not flying through the village. The cottage was nice and clean. The shower was great. The main oven was not working when we arrived and whilst the landlord was very attentive, it was not possible to be fixed during our stay. We're sure it will be fixed by now. Wifi works fine. The garden is tiny but nice to sit in. Altogether a very pleasant stay in a pretty property in a great location. The lady who cleans the property is very kind as well. Oh, we did have a welcome hamper when we arrived of eggs, milk, bread and butter - lovely touch. If you are thinking of doing any road cycling when you are in the area then please note there are no flat roads in Dorset and the hills seem like they're vertical but at least they're short! (If you need a bike shop for replacement brake pads....then there is a great one in Axminster). If you want a nice base from which to wander around that part of Dorset then you won't go far wrong.

Very well presented and welcoming cottage. Clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the garden very much. The ceilings upstairs are a bit of a challenge but are also part of the period character of the cottage. Maybe the armchairs could do with updating.

On first glance lovely property, but on closer inspection there are improvements that need to be sorted. There was a very strong dog smell on entering, hall tile cracked and both bathrooms upstairs have very little grouting remaining between the floor tiles. The bedroom with the two single beds in smelled musty and both beds were extremely uncomfortable. Apparently the double bed was very comfortable. The shower downstairs had a broken waste cover and my partner cleaned loads of hair out from the drain which improved the draining dramatically. The couches and chairs in the lounge have seen better days, and the mini hifi in the lounge did not work. I reported all of these to the caretaker who had literally only just taken over the job, so she was trying to play catch up. She even came to take away the recycling as the bottle box and bin were full from previous clients, more than one weeks worth of bottles, unless they had been extremely heavy drinkers. I am sure the new caretaker will endeavour to bring about some necessary changes as she certainly is very concientious. It is a lovely house, I would stay here again, but I think for the weekly charges there needs to be some up dating of furnishing and perhaps some new towels and bath mats as these had seen better days. Just a suggestion, but perhaps closing down for a week and carrying out a deep clean and general sprucing up would then justify the fees that are charged.

The Coach House is a wonderful converted old building on a private lane. Good parking for two cars although entrance is quite narrow. I managed to get my 4x4 through with inches to spare. Cottage is beautiful from the outside as well on the inside. It looks small but inside its like a tardis. We loved the silk flowers. Two good sized bedrooms, very comfortable main double bed. Three! bathrooms, one with shower is near the front door which is a godsend when returning with mucky mutts after a long walk. Very comfortable sitting room and well provisioned kitchen. The garden is very safe if you have dogs. The cottage is about 100yards behind the main road, the A35, and is well situated to explore the coast paths in the area. Two good pubs are within easy walking distance. The only downside is the nearby A35, it is very busy, extremely dangerous as heavy traffic thunders through the village. The cottage is just far away to avoid the worst, but if you sit in the garden the noise is quite loud. Fortunately the traffic dies down later in the evening and you will not be disturbed sleeping.

The Coach House is a very cosy cottage that felt instantly comfortable. It was also one of the cleanest cottages that we have stayed in. It has a sheltered enclosed garden where our dog could be let out safely. The only drawback is that the ceiling in the master bedroom is rather low on either side (the ceiling of the twin bedroom is higher). I am 5'11" and soon got used to keeping to the "corridor of certainty" down the middle of the room, and in fact only bumped my head once after the first night. It would not put us off booking cottage again. The cottage is in an ideal location for walks, with a wide range of both short and long walks through delightful scenery to choose from.

Great cottage in excellent location. Local people were so friendly and the high street pub The George provided us with a really excellent base for our evenings out. All in all a great place to stay.

the cottage was a very comfortable size for two adults, one baby and a dog. Everything worked very well - it was like a home away from home. We particularly appreciated the welcome, with a fresh liar of bread, half a dozen eggs and pint of milk - we were so tired from our journey down this made a much appreciated quick evening meal of eggs on toast! Can think of no faults, and would recommend this cottage to friends and family.
