Nestled between Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy in the picturesque Cambrian Mountains, this lovely cottage has been tastefully renovated and offers traditional accommodation with a wealth of character.

Sitting in the stunning hamlet of Minllyn is the delightful cottage known as ‘The Coach House’, which was originally the former Coach House of Lord Buckley’s Estate.  Nestled between Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy in the picturesque Cambrian Mountains, this lovely cottage has been tastefully renovated and offers traditional accommodation with a wealth of character.   The large spacious lounge with its impressive inglenook fireplace and wood burner offers comfy sofas and invites you to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring.  Having a large Kitchen Diner with all modern appliances, a utility room and three good sized bedrooms together with two bathrooms, one having a Spa Jacuzzi Bath, this cottage has everything to make your holiday perfect.  Its gardens are an additional feature offering lawned areas and a shingle patio, having a stone built BBQ and Chimenea; ideal for the alfresco dining.  The River Dyfi (Dovey) runs through the field at the rear of the cottage and The Coach House has fishing rights over a 1 mile stretch of the river (permit required).  There are four pubs close by and the Meirion Woollen Mill, which has a coffee shop, stands on the banks of the River Dovey and is open to visitors.
The Dyfi valley is home to Wales’ first new style world class UNESCO Biosphere - a special place where conservation and sustainable development go hand in hand.  So much of the area’s economy is connected with the quality of our environment, and therefore landowners and the business community play a large part in the Biosphere in order that our towns, villages and surrounding countryside develop and benefit our future quality of life and happiness.

A very beautiful property in a great location close enough to Barmouth for the beach and amusements and for walking would stay there again and would recommend to family and friends

The Coach House is a large and comfortable cottage. It is full of oddities that some may find uncomfortable, such as stuffed animals - taxidermy. If I am honest there is too much stuff in here and although in character is rather overpowering. The level of cleanliness in the rooms and bathrooms was excellent but there was dust evident on the extra items which did not enhance the experience. The garden was nicely enclosed and secluded but not as big as seemed in pics. there was also a large pond that I cannot remember reading about, which was rather nice. The coffee table in the lounge is in fact something to do with sheep fleeces (I think!) and was very sharp and I do not feel appropriate as a coffee table. This all sounds negative but we loved our stay and felt it was excellent value for money, I feel the owners should maybe remove a little of their personality from this cottage.
