Nestled between Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy in the picturesque Cambrian Mountains, this lovely cottage has been tastefully renovated and offers traditional accommodation with a wealth of character.

Sitting in the stunning hamlet of Minllyn is the delightful detached cottage known as ‘The Coach House’, which was originally the former Coach House of Lord Buckley’s Estate.  Nestled between Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy in the picturesque Cambrian Mountains, this lovely cottage has been tastefully renovated and offers traditional accommodation with a wealth of character.   The large spacious lounge with its impressive inglenook fireplace and wood burner offers comfy sofas and invites you to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring.  Having a large Kitchen Diner with all modern appliances, a utility room and three good sized bedrooms together with two bathrooms, one having a Spa Jacuzzi Bath, this cottage has everything to make your holiday perfect.  Its gardens are an additional feature offering lawned areas and a shingle patio, having a stone built BBQ and Chimenea; ideal for the alfresco dining.  The River Dyfi (Dovey) runs through the field at the rear of the cottage and The Coach House has fishing rights over a 1 mile stretch of the river (permit required).  There are four pubs close by and the Meirion Woollen Mill, which has a coffee shop, stands on the banks of the River Dovey and is open to visitors.
The Dyfi valley is home to Wales’ first new style world class UNESCO Biosphere - a special place where conservation and sustainable development go hand in hand.  So much of the area’s economy is connected with the quality of our environment, and therefore landowners and the business community play a large part in the Biosphere in order that our towns, villages and surrounding countryside develop and benefit our future quality of life and happiness.

Would have been nice cottage but damp ,musty smells ,beds very small hard matte rise and uncomfortable. There was only one door and Windows to small to escape if fire ,maybe health and safety visit would be good .We have not complained to customer services but it might be a good idea as I say for a check for fire precaution.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were disappointed to read your review following your recent stay at The Coach House. The cottage is a lovely place, it is old, full of character and also listed. We have families / guests returning year after year. The property is well maintained and is not damp or musty. We have never received comments of this nature previously. The Coach House is inspected on an annual basis by our Regional Manager and the safety of our guests is our number one priority. Everything that can be done has been done to alert in case of fire. The property has hard wired smoke detectors, also battery operates smoke alarms place about and carbon monoxide detectors situated in the kitchen and living room. There is a smoke blanket, fire extinguisher and fire procedure notice in the kitchen. We cannot make the upstairs bedroom windows any bigger ( Snowdonia National Park would not allow this ) however, the fire exits are clearly stated within the fire procedure notice. Your observations regarding the upstairs windows size, you seem to have forgot to mention the large Velux 1 metre square window situated at that level. We cannot do any more to make our guests feel welcome and safe. We take great pride in our Cottage and the reputation we have with our loyal guests. The feedback we have received from our guests, both on the site and privately, is that they love our Cottage and are delighted with the standard of the accommodation and cleanliness. We are disheartened to hear on this occasion you have not fully enjoyed your stay with us, nonetheless we will endeavour to maintain our high standards.

The small hamlet of Dina's is picturesque to say the least, the beach is only thirty minute drive away but you also have lakes and mountains, the cottage felt very homely.

Could not recommend this property more!! Beautiful house, beautiful location and super helpful owners. You do need to be car drivers as most places are a drive but the cottage was stunning. It is full of trinkets and quirkiness and we all loved it.

I did have a small issue with the cottage but was very impressed by the fact thar the owner took the trouble to ring me to discuss this within 30 minutes of my returning home. We had an amicable talk and I am certain this problem will be remedied promptly.
