This was our first time in Wedbourne and we really enjoyed the village. The cottage was well equipped very clean and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. Would have liked a downstairs WC but that is a personal choice. The gardens were lovely. Enjoyed our stay.

A fabulous cottage in a great location - right on the edge of a very pretty and friendly village with everything you could need - pubs, restaurants, village shop, farm shop, deli, cafe's and beautiful gift shops. Very close to Glastonbury, Wells and other surrounding villages. Plenty for all the family to do and see. The cottage was very well equipped and in lovely grounds. An awesome holiday.

Beautiful location ideal place to stay as near to Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge & other attractions and beaches. Lovely cream tea upon arrival was a nice touch and information pack answered all our questions. Cottage felt like a home away from home, very comfortable and warm. Friendly locals very willing to help out with any queries.

The property itself was lovely although it would definitely benefit from new beds as we found them quite hard and didn't sleep well and TV desperately needs modernising. Also we were slightly disappointed that the garden wasn't enclosed and was actually very open so kids could not be left to play. The access for property was a little difficult as was through a gate straight off main road. We really struggled with getting out in the morning as once out gate you were straight away on the main road with vehicles travelling quite quickly and often cars parked opposite. It was a complete blindspot at times. Once out the accommodation the roads required some quite careful handling, especially if visiting places like Ebbor Gorge which is a single vehicle access road. The nearby beaches of Burnham and Weston Super Mare don't have a proper sea really, it is quite far out and the they have like a clay quick sand which makes the kids filthy. We headed into Minehead for a sandy beach in the end although that was over 40miles away. We had a nice week but I don't think we would return for a while as exhausted the local attractions.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for providing feedback, which is always helpful to get, and we are very pleased that you thought the property was “lovely” and you had “a nice week”. On your specific points: This winter we have installed a brand new LED TV which I’m sure will meet all visitors’ needs. Many of our visitors comment very favourably on how the firm bed is good for their backs, but we understand that some prefer a softer feel so we have invested in a high quality soft mattress topper to provide the option. 3We advertise the “open garden” (actually it is a 2 acre former cider orchard) as a feature so are surprised and disappointed that you didn’t like it. You may remember that while you were here our own grandchildren, aged 1, 3 and 5, spent many happy hours playing in the field (which is completely fenced and totally safe). They make dens, pick up sticks, and run around a lot – but if that’s not what you want, a country cottage may not be right for you. Not sure why you went to Weston beach when we recommended Berrow Beach, which is nearer. While you were at Weston, I was at Berrow with the grandchildren having a fabulous time running around in the safe, warm shallow water, and then we all had an ice-cream. Somerset roads – well, they lead to some of the most beautiful unspoiled scenery, free from crowds of people, for example Ebbor Gorge. Being in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, fortunately it is not possible to build 6-lane highways to reach them, so in Somerset we are used to driving carefully and passing each other at convenient points. However we do understand that you prefer places with big roads so as you say, it may be best not to return to Somerset.

We have stayed at the coach house three times. It is a lovely, well equipped cottage and is an ideal base for exploring Somerset and surrounding area.
