The Coach House is a lovely, open-plan property situated in a village setting and is ideal for couples who enjoy walking.

Set in the grounds of the owners’ home, this former coach house has been converted into an open-plan, detached studio which provides spacious and thoughtfully designed holiday accommodation, perfect for couples or a small family. The property occupies a great position within the village of Cheddleton, and there are lovely countryside views which can be enjoyed from the well-kept gardens and orchard. Cheddleton is situated above the Caldon Canal and River Churnet in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands, making it a great area for walking. There are lots of amenities available in the local area including pubs, restaurants, take-aways and recreation facilities. A wider range of amenities can be found in the market town of Leek, which is famous for its antique shops and is just 3 miles away. There are lots of attractions and places of interest within easy driving distance such as The Flint Mill, 220 yards away, and the Churnet Valley Railway which is 2 miles or a 15-minute walk. Also, Waterworld and The Potteries at Stoke on Trent is 10 miles, and Alton Towers is 12 miles. National Trust properties in the area include Biddulp Grange, 6 miles, White Peak, which incorporates Dovedale and Manifold Valley, 10 miles and Sudbury Hall ,17 miles. The Peak District National Park is also very accessible from here. Shop ½ mile, pub 80 yards and restaurant 200 yards.

The cottage is in a beautiful location and the views are stunning. The two sets of French doors open up giving a lovely 'al fresco' feel to the cottage which we really love. The accommodation is spacious and well laid out making excellent use of the space. The bed is comfortable. The location is good for visiting National Trust properties and the potteries in Stoke. The property is within extensive, well maintained gardens which guests are welcomed to enjoy. The owner lives in the house on site and he is very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The cottage was light, warm and cosy. We had a warm welcome from Nigel. Also the cottage is near to the canal for pleasant walk.

We liked the coach house but the standard of cleaning let it down slightly. The owners were extremely nice and very helpful, the situation was great. The owners explained that they had had problems with cleaners but that it was resolved - we didn't have the heart to tell them the problem was still apparent!

A delightful self contained open plan cottage in a delightful location in the owners extensive grounds. This cottage is perfect for two (although it can sleep up to four, but that would be cramped). Although a studio cottage, it is roomy, spacious, airy and very comfortable. The open plan layout allows for maximum light and spaciousness. There are plenty of lovely big windows and French doors all the way round that offer delightful views of the countryside. We especially loved looking out the window next to the bed which looked out onto the rolling hills. Liz and Nigel are the perfect hosts. They are warm, welcoming and very helpful. The cottage forms part of their extensive grounds and although they are nearby and always happy to help in any way, they give their guests autonomy and privacy. They warmly invite guests to make use of their delightful gardens and grounds. Liz even brought over some delicious home-made cake that she had just baked. The cottage is extremely well furnished with just about everything anyone could possibly need or want for a week away including some board games and toys for children. The bed is very comfortable and the decor is warm and stylish. The shower is powerful with plenty of hot water. There is even a dishwasher and washing machine. There is plenty of parking just outside of the cottage. Note that there is a short steep drive up to the cottage. Nearby in the village, there are a number of good pubs (one just across the road) and Leek is only a few minutes drive away by car. In Leek there are plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities. Overall, we much enjoyed our stay at the Coach House and we would definitely stay again if in the area. We would most recommend this cottage for couples or perhaps families with young children (although it must be noted that this cottage is a studio layout so there is only one combined living and sleeping space).
