Description

A converted 19th century cider mill, with good walks from the door. The medieval town of Ludlow is close by.

This nicely converted, 19th century, detached, cider mill holiday cottage is near the owner’s farm, with views over lawned gardens and meadows, in the cider apple county just south of the fine medieval town of Ludlow. It’s a short drive from woodland walks, fishing in the Teme Valley and the border country. The dining area retains a magnificent cider mill (one of the few that survive in the area) and the living room has external granary steps. Good walks from the door, and all the attractions of Shropshire and Hereford an easy drive. Shop, pub/restaurant ½ mile.

Ground floor: Dining room. Kitchen. First floor: Living room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and chairs. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars).

Had a lovely week's holiday in this very comfortable and spacious cottage. Beautiful, very peaceful location ideal for anyone who likes to get away from hustle and bustle. Good walks virtually on the doorstep. Very minor slight critisim a good coat of exterior paint would greatly enhance the outside appearance of the cottage.

Apart from the mill stone in the downstairs room the cottage was extremely basic. The bathroom was severely in need of upgrading and the shower was non-existent given that it had so much black mould clogging the shower head. The sealant around the bath was also black with mould and in need of replacing. The kitchen was basic and had no large dinner plates. There were no walks immediately from the door even though there was a footpath along the edge of the adjoining field. The farmer who owned/rented the field had seen fit to plough right up to the hedge therefore obliterating the footpath altogether and as it rained during our stay this turned the field to mud. We have stayed in numerous rental cottages over the years and this is by far the most disappointing and basic we have ever stayed in. It was not good value for the money we paid and the grading needs looking at. The only attraction was the mill stone and the enclosed garden, which the dog enjoyed.

Loved the peaceful situation of the cottage, but within easy and pleasant walking distance of the delightful village of Orleton.

A lovely cottage that is quirky and different, the owners are very friendly without being intrusive. A nice quiet location but with plenty to do and very dog friendly with a super safe lawned area for them to run in
