The Cart House was the perfect place to relax and unwind with the added bonus of a sea view. The accommodation -an open plan barn-conversion - was tastefully decorated, spacious, light and comfortable. The owners had thoughtfully supplied lots of extra touches; binoculars for watching the birds in the garden, lovely scented hand cream, a digital radio, to add to the enjoyment of our stay. On the first chilly evening, Stephen came to make a fire for us in the wood burner so we had a cosy evening after our long journey. I would highly recommend this peaceful retreat.

The cottage lived up to its billing; remote, quiet, with excellent views and lots of local wildlife activity. Very friendly owners. Would highly recommend this for couples seeking a quiet hideaway.

Fabulous property with amazing sea view. Photos do not show just how spacious the place really is. We loved the bright and open layout and cosy under floor heating. Log burner was lovely for the evenings, sitting watching the flames is relaxing. We honestly didn't need it from a heat aspect but you can't beat the look of a real fire. Ideally situated for coastal path walking. My husband and i totally loved our four night stay at the Cart House. We would love to return. Stephen and Lynda the owners were really friendly and helpful. Fab place 10 out of 10. There were plenty of information leaflets on local places to visit and paths, tracks and routes for walking in the area.

We had a very restful time in this idyllic cottage, we could hear the waves breaking in the cove about half a mile away, despite the booking for the end of October we were able to get out and about every day, the walk along the coastal path is spectacular. We plan to visit again in the spring.

The Cart House is ideal for both a quiet escape and a base for exploring all that North Devon has to offer. The proprietors couldn't be more friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

The cottage its self is behond beautiful, the surrounding areas are spectacular, even when it rained being able to watch cloud float over the rolling hills was lovely, the coattage was so homely you didnt mind staying it for a few hours, very relaxing environment. The people who own the cart house made it even better by helping us find lovely location for photos and sight seeing. Will definitely be going back hopefully next year once our daughter arrives! Have already recommended to family!

The Carthouse is a wonderful place to stay if you are wanting a quiet peaceful holiday. The property has been built to a high standard and has every thing you need. Steven and his wife were very welcoming and very helpful in recommending places to visit etc. We will certainly be going to stay again. It is rates among one of the best places we have stayed in.

Really enjoyed our stay. We were met with a lovely cream tea. We would have been going there again except we are taking our dog next time but unfortunately can not take him here. Anyone booking a holiday here will love it just like we did.
