This lovely barn conversion combines all the comfort and equipment of a modern home with the peace of a real country hideaway. Sit in the lounge and watch woodpeckers at the bird-feeder or a fox on the patio, or walk down the lanes and see roe deer and marsh harriers. The area is perfect for walkers and Clovelly, Bude and Rosemoor are all within 30 minutes drive. Nervous drivers need to know that the cottage has several miles of single-track roads between it and the main road in any direction - but there's little traffic and you get to know milking times! The shower and dishwasher are marvelous (we didn't use the super-deep bath as I wasn't sure whether I'd get out!!) Stephen and Lynda are perfect hosts - next door if you need them, but discreet if you don't - and at no times did their farmyard impact on us. in any way.

A cosy and comfortable holiday cottage in a wonderful quiet countryside far away from the crowds. We spent a wonderful and relaxing week in the Cart House. Many things to be seen nearby - the coast, Docton Mill, Hartland Abbey, Clovelly. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We very much enjoyed our week in the Cart House. The property is beautifully presented, very well equipped, and the owners are lovely. The Cart House was ideal for exploring this stretch of the Atlantic coastline running from Hartland Point down towards Padstow. We will definitely return again.

Lovely cottage. Views were great. Remoteness of location may not suit everyone. Some lovely places to visit in the surrounding area

We had a lovely relaxing stay at the Cart House and would definitely hope to stay there again. The cottage is warm, very well equipped and cozy, the owners very welcoming but not at all intrusive, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. An earlier review nearly put me off booking as it mentioned the narrow lanes to the cottage but this was not a problem at all, the road is perfectly fine.

Excellent holiday cottage. Great for peace and quiet, away from the crowds. Better suited to those traveller's who wish to leave the car and get out the walking boots. Beautifully presented; with friendly helpful owner's. Cannot recommend highly enough.
