Our first time at The Carriage House and sincerely hope it won't be our last. Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location overlooking Ulswater. Would certainly recommend to anyone. Thank you

The Carriage House is a compact, well furnished and well equipped cottage with a beautifully laid out garden and very pleasant views of Ullswater. The interior fittings are all fairly new and provided pretty much everything we needed for a very comfortable week's stay. In fact, the cottage would be pretty well perfect were it not for the cramped bedroom space on the mezzanine level in the roofspace. Even though we are fairly short most movement in the bedroom had to be with a stoop or crouch. Goodness knows how the really tall would manage! We also wonder whether the lack of full curtains across the window wall may make the living space less cosy during the colder, darker periods of the year. Despite these caveats we would certainly book the cottage again.

Although a beautiful setting, the cottage, we felt, was a little small, especially the bedroom. We loved the garden, the views, the modern bathroom & the well-equipped kitchen but found the bedroom tough to cope with for a week. Perhaps a younger couple would be fine but it wasn't quite right for us.

The location was wonderful and the property very pleasant. However the lack of headspace in the bedroom area was not properly explained. We managed but not everyone might. A reduced price would better reflect this one, but significant, drawback.

A stunning location and a very well equipped property. Just a few small points which would make it even better. A previous customer had mentioned some time ago the lack of a clothes airer/dryer which would of great use Lake District which can at times have very heavy rain. It has still not been provided. It is obvious that a great deal of money has been spent on landscaping the garden however the water feature and lights need attention the two small ponds are overgrown and pumping system does not fully work. The wooden benches are not at all inviting to sit on and they haven't been cleaned for some time and are covered in lichen. This is probably why the patio table and chairs have been moved down to the pond area. When it rains the guttering leaks near the patio doors and this has probably lead to the sill rotting. It would be nice to have a welcoming pack of bread and tea and milk etc for people, especially those arriving late at night. We were really not impressed by the two small individual glass sized bottles of wine.

The cottage was a perfect location and amazing views with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Only negative for this property is that the double bed was not very comfortable.
