This was such a lovely place to stay. The owners were very friendly, the cottage was clean, cozy, very warm and seriously sweet. The local town of Alston has two mini markets, Co-op and Spar that were very handy and only 5 mins diwn the road. The location was incredibly peaceful, although being the end cottage next to the hot tub, it might be a bit rowdy in summer? Unless you're the one using it of course. My only problem and the only reason this isn't a 10 across the board is that there really isn't anywhere close by to walk a big dog unless you want to patrol the road and take your life in your own hands with the speedy traffic. There are a lot of walks close by but they involve traversing walls and tight chicanes', which a big dog obviously can't do. So we had to travel quite a bit to find open spaces, which there are plenty of if you're willing to travel 15-20 miles away from the cottage, but a bit of a pain if you wanted to stay local. All this is kind of mute if you have a little/medium sized dog though, and I'm sure you'll love it.

A nice warm welcome, coffee, tea milk and biscuits to welcome us. Really could do with WiFi access for guest even if extra charge applied for it.
