With shared use of an ’endless’ heated indoor swimming pool, as well as an infra-red sauna, this property is a peaceful retreat.

Situated in the fantastic location of the Trossachs National Park, this beautifully renovated 18th-century barn conversion, adjoining the owner’s home and accessed via a rough track, lies in a peaceful location offering breathtaking views over Ben Lomond and the Menteith Hills. Gartmore is the perfect setting for those who love outdoor pursuits, with hundreds of kilometres of forest track easily accessible. The property has two large fields, both with a stream running through them, in which guests are welcome to take children and/or dogs. The ‘endless’ swimming-pool provides optimal swimming conditions for a single swimmer and the current can be adjusted to a preferred level of difficulty. Even without the current, it still makes a lovely sized pool in which children can swim and have fun.
This is an ideal location to explore one of Scotland’s most picturesque areas with excellent outdoor activities to be enjoyed including walking, cycling, golf, fishing, pony trekking and water sports nearby, as well the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Track 7, which both pass through Gartmore. Visit the Trossachs Discovery Centre to learn more about this exciting area, or a little further afield, why not enjoy a cruise on the stunning Loch Lomond. Stirling - with its ancient castle - is also easily accessible for the day and well worth a trip.
The surrounding district is steeped in history and there are many characters in Scottish history who have had vast amounts written about them, but few as famous as Rob Roy Macgregor, William Wallace and Mary Queen of Scots, all of whom had a part to play in the history of this area. Shop 1⅓ miles.

Track on way up to property is awful. We had a jeep so was slightly higher. Family we were with were worried when car has all the family in it as it scraped off the ground. Property was tired and dirty. Cobwebs and dead flies in windows. Beds were flimsy and creeped when you moved and bedding was cheap. Water is scalding hot and an accident waiting to happen. Boiling water as soon as tap turned on. We did ask for it to be turned down as we had toddlers with us but this was not done. Children had to wash hands with cold water. Several burns from adults when forgetting how hot water was. Fire detector ran out of batteries at three in the morning. We had to ask the following night for it to be replaced. Swimming pool was freezing too cold to take kids swimming and the hot tub didn't look to clean never used. Was very expensive for the quality of the property and furnishings.

we had problems with heating couple of nights. we were on holiday with a little toddler(18 months) so we could not afford a cold house. In one occasion the heater was broken so that was kind of acceptable, but in other the house central heating was setup for weekend on low temperature and outside temperature was on frozen side, so it was impossible to turn the hitter temperature up(we had a electronic engineer among us) ,and In middle of night we have to were our coat and go under duvet to keep warm especially keeping the toddler warm as she was confused why we should were coat at night?. when we mentioned it to owner she said you could of come and ask for hot water bottle!! Also she was saying how much they are spending on Eco heating which I don't think it's any of our problem. I think it would be ok for summer but not for cold season.
