The cottage layout was marvellous and everywhere was clean, but there was far too little crockery - only 4 cups, 6 dinner plates, 6 side plates and 6 dishes. Once you had a drink you had to wash up or use dirty cups!!! There were no spare bin bags and no cleaning equipment for the bathrooms or kitchen. The fridge had been taped together round the milk holder and was damaged at the bottom. The DVD player did not work - and had not worked since February (noted in the visitor book). If the owner is not going to fix this it needs to be taken off the cottage advertisement as it is misleading. The position of the cottage is great for dog owners, there is a long lane down to the road, with fields where you can walk them without fear of traffic and there are no cattle or sheep. It was very quiet and peaceful. Because of the lack of equipment we will not be going back to the cottage.

Tucked away amongst fields brimming with Lapwings and much wildlife, including wild deer, this cosy comfortable cottage with an enclosed garden was a great retreat for us and our dogs. North Yorkshire Moors is 15minutes away. Interesting visits to Eden Camp near Pickering (accepts all dogs) and also Ryedale Open Air Museum (also great for dogs) door is the Crown Inn with excellent food, dogs welcome and free parking for the museum. Good beach for dogs is at Saltburn-on-Sea (car park right above the beach next to Saltburn Cliff Lift).

Excellent location for a peaceful holiday away from intrusions of electronic communications. Suitable for people who can be comfortable with country life and the sounds of nature.

Excellent cottage. A couple of minor problems. The ensuite shower didn't drain away well. And the access road needed attention, 're potholes. But the doggie safe garden and other plusses made up for the problems. Kind and friendly hosts.
