Perfect cottage in a wonderful location. There is everything imaginable in the cottage itself. Lovely to be part of a genuine working farm with the ability to see the cows being milk and even to feed the calves! The cottage is a real getaway from the hustle & bustle of everyday life but close enough to plenty of lovely places to visit only a short drive away. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

What a beautiful cottage! Everything you want and more a real home from home. Comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen and a very nice bathroom, the garden area was excellent but more importantly safe, for our 3 dogs and after the cows get taken in for the day you can take them into the fields to walk and play! Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely owner either, I would definitely recommend the Byre, it's away from the main roads in a very quiet location but there is a shop, hotel and garden centre in the actual village of Ballantrae and only a 13 mile drive to the nearest town of Girvan, where there are plenty of shops, takeaways etc, there are great views of Ailsa Craig and some beautiful sunsets to see.

We had a fantastic time. The cottage was excellent, as was the rolling countryside.

The cottage was lovely and warm and the courtyard at the back was a lovely sun trap. It is situated in the ideal place if you want a quiet break. If you are put off in the description about the doorway between the two properties don't be as it is only through in the courtyard wall. The lady who owns the cottage was very friendly and informative about the local area and nothing was a problem.

Beautiful location, perfect for discovering Scotland and getting in touch with your childhood. Friendly and generously hospitable owners with great knowledge and pride in their profession and area. We had an amazing time, didn't want to leave.
