In terms of decoration the cottage is in need of an update. This can be seen on the pictures. However, once you get past this fact, the cottage is in fact a very enjoyable place to stay. Despite the proximity to both the A38 and A610 roads which make it easy to travel to many local places, quickly and easily, we found the cottage to be quiet and peaceful, as was the village. The cottage is extremely clean, which is not always something we experience when staying in holiday cottages, so top marks here. The beds and bedding are extremely comfortable and cosy and we all, children included slept incredibly well. The garden is beautiful, spacious and well maintained by the friendly owners and ideal if travelling with children. There is a seperate part of the garden with picnic bench and table offering fantastic views over the fields and valley to the hills towards Crich where Crich stand can be seen in the distance. If travelling with children under say 5 years old who are not yet road-savvy, you can seperate this part of the garden off by placing the wheelie-bin on the garden path, as there is otherwise direct access to the main village road.

A well-appointed cottage in an excellent location. For personal reasons we had a very short stay and arrived at a very inconvenient time, but the owner was very helpful and accommodating.

What a wonderful place to stay - such a lovely bungalow; comfortable, well- equipped, immaculately clean, and the glorious view from the pretty garden is something we will remember for a long time. It was perfect for us with our Staffordshire Bull Terrier and two teenage sons in tow. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome from Mr Grainger who told us some interesting facts about the house and village, and after a 5 hour journey we were touched to find milk in the fridge and the makings for a hot drink. The village pub a short walk away served excellent food. A great relaxing weekend, and we hope to return in the not too distant future.
