The Bull Pen is beautifully presented and full of character, offering lovely accommodation for four and is situated in Alderton village.

Ideal holiday location

The Bull Pen and Calf Pen are two single-storey barn conversions in a courtyard setting, situated within the owners’ grounds and have been sympathetically restored, while retaining many original features. With easy access to the M5 network, they are ideally placed for visiting the many Cotswold towns and villages including the beautiful village of Broadway and the unspoilt village of Winchcombe. Set almost midway between Regency Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, both towns offer an excellent day out with an abundant choice of shops, restaurants, theatres and racecourses. Walkers can enjoy the challenge of the Wychavon Way, or a more gentle amble around the gardens of Snowshill Manor or Sudeley Castle. Both properties (ref 26158 & 26159) can be booked together for larger parties. Shops, pubs and restaurant 1½ miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with patio doors, beams and tiled floor. Kitchen with beams and tiled floor. 2 double bedrooms, one (6ft zip and link) with en-suite shower room and toilet, one with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Two Freeview TVs. Enclosed courtyard. Parking (2 cars). NB: Step in courtyard.

Both properties: Ground source underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot on request. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Wi-fi. Shared patio and sitting-out area with furniture. Shared cycle store. No smoking.

The accommodation was clean, well equipped, very comfortable and the owners introduced themselves initially and then let us get on with it. The cake left as a welcoming gift was much appreciated and delicious. As regular cottage bookers we found The Bull Pen one of the best we have had and would recommend.

The Bull Pen is such a lovely property. A very stylish character property with all equipment you need for a self catering break. We have 2 children & it was very safe for them too. The underfloor heating kept us cosy & warm & the lemon & ginger cake was a lovely touch. Very well located for exploring the Cotswolds, and only 10mins to Tewkesbury.

We had a lovely stay over New Years at the Bull Pen. We found the accommodation to be excellent - beautifully restored, well laid out and child-friendly. Well situated within the Costwolds - in close proximity to Broadway, Bourton on the Water and the Toddington Steam Train. Plenty of entertainment for our two young children (1 and 3). The Widcombe Way can be picked up 200m from the entrance which makes for good trail running. The only down side was the master bed was too soft for our liking and the location on a B-road which meant one had to exert caution when heading out for walks or crossing over to Alderton. Fairy cakes and champagne provided on arrival were unexpected and a lovely touch. Many thanks.
