A smart timber lodge in one acre of enclosed, private gardens overlooking Loch Sunart. A fabulous place to spot wildlife or watch the sun going down.

The Bield is a timber built holiday lodge designed, and imported from Finland. It overlooks Loch Sunart and is situated on the rugged slopes that are the foothills of Beinn Resipole. The property stands in one acre of private and enclosed grounds and commands magnificent views over Loch Sunart and the Morvern Hills beyond. Enjoy walks through the historic oakwoods and lead mines at Aruindle which is close by. Pristine sandy beaches along the coast include Sanna Bay with its impressive white sand dunes and rock pools to explore. Very comfy and clean cottage set in a stunning location with great views. Garden is large and secure for dogs with the exception of a gap underneath the gate, but this can easily be remedied by using the ladder under the cabin. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep and nearby. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the peaceful location with very little traffic, probably 3 cars a day! The bird feeders are wonderful with various birds visiting throughout the day. All in all a wonderful experience. We would book this cabin again ☺

Extremely relaxing and a wonderful base to explore the Ardnamurchan. We have had the best holiday that we have had in a long time. Give me a couple of days and we shall be booking to stay there again next year. We can not give it enough superlatives.

Compact but comfortable. If the ladder underneath the cabin is placed on the ground beneath the gate the garden becomes dog-proof. The location is good and it is well equipped and clean. We would recommend it.

The Bield was a lovely cabin overlooking the loch, we visited in June and were rather unlucky with the weather, but this didn't really take away from the fact that the area was really outstanding and peaceful. Our two dogs enjoyed running in the garden and were fairly active, so we didn't really see much of the local wildlife. We spent a lot of time sight-seeing only making it back late on in the day. The midges were rather "active" as the weather was to their liking, but unfortunately even our sprays were not effective on them. When I booked I didn't notice that there was no double bed, only two twin rooms, but that was my problem for not reading properly. The cabin was clean and smelled lovely. I did do cooking and noticed a couple of pans weren't as clean as I would have liked, but that was down to the people who were there before us. I think there had also been some changes to the furniture and flooring, as I thought the colour of the carpet, pale beige, wasn't really in keeping with being dog friendly. Our dogs were constantly being wiped down in the hallway, as we didn't feel comfortable to let them wander in and out because of the rain and their wet feet. On the whole, I would recommend staying here if you wanted the peace and quiet to unwind. We didn't eat out, as we were usually tired from traveling, but the local hotel was only a short walk down the hill.
