The Bield was a lovely cabin overlooking the loch, we visited in June and were rather unlucky with the weather, but this didn't really take away from the fact that the area was really outstanding and peaceful. Our two dogs enjoyed running in the garden and were fairly active, so we didn't really see much of the local wildlife. We spent a lot of time sight-seeing only making it back late on in the day. The midges were rather "active" as the weather was to their liking, but unfortunately even our sprays were not effective on them. When I booked I didn't notice that there was no double bed, only two twin rooms, but that was my problem for not reading properly. The cabin was clean and smelled lovely. I did do cooking and noticed a couple of pans weren't as clean as I would have liked, but that was down to the people who were there before us. I think there had also been some changes to the furniture and flooring, as I thought the colour of the carpet, pale beige, wasn't really in keeping with being dog friendly. Our dogs were constantly being wiped down in the hallway, as we didn't feel comfortable to let them wander in and out because of the rain and their wet feet. On the whole, I would recommend staying here if you wanted the peace and quiet to unwind. We didn't eat out, as we were usually tired from traveling, but the local hotel was only a short walk down the hill.

Lovely property in a stunning setting. Fantastic view and wifi works from the top of the garden and is very reliable The cabin was clean and tidy although could do with a little updating, the floor was very creaky. Good walks from the cabin through the woods. Nevis range is worth a day out and is dog friendly. The garden was fantastic for dogs although my little one could get under the gate but this wasn't really an issue, she just preferred not to wait for the gate to be opened and took the easy route.

Nice cottage for 4, remote but close walks and views are worth it. Dogs could readily pass under the gate. The cottage would benefit from a new settee, also an extractor fan in the bathroom would be an asset, as although there is a window it is not possible to leave it open in the midge season.
