A very charm cottage with everything you could possibly need (including the kitchen sink) to make your stay a very nice relaxing experience. For example, would you normally expect dishwasher & washing machine in 'The Beach Hut'. Key collection could not have been easier with clear instructions given to us by Teresa.

Brilliant little cottage, very clean, nice and close to the beach and shops and a pub just down the road. What more could anyone need, brilliant holiday thank you.

Very nice property with all the amenities you could ask for. The location is convenient if not pretty but the price reflects this - this is not Southwold! Very close to beaches and local shops. Lowestoft is a nice town.

We had a lovely time. The cottage is small but has everything you need. It was fantastic being so close to the beach and there are lovely places to visit nearby.

Great little cottage. Getting up the stairs with luggage was difficult. Nice large kitchen and bathroom. Close to pub which had decent food.

The house was okay, I did feel it is a bit much to ask for additional heating, I was not aware of this as I had to change our week from May to April, so was surprised when I received the invoice in the post, bed uncomfortable and pillows need changing as they have no support and toilet seat broken and fitted the wrong way, the spare slabs in the garden are dangerous we came in late one night and my husband fell over them, I also felt with some areas padlocked visitors are not trusted.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am sorry to hear your stay at The Beach Hut was not to your total satisfaction. However, it is clearly noted on the website that there is a heating supplement payable between October and May with the rates clearly provided. We are also sorry that you did not find the bed comfortable, in fairness the mattress is firm which may not be to everyone’s liking, the pillows are changed at least once every season, however as with the mattress, pillow type is of personal preference and very firm pillows may not suit everyone. The toilet seat is a good quality wooden type and to be fair does have a small shrinkage crack to the rear, shrinkage and cracking is a common characteristic of timber, the crack does not affect the function or comfort of the seat, we have checked the seat fittings and it is fitted and functions correctly, it is also comfortable. The slabs in the garden were behind a bush, so we do find it hard to understand how someone could trip over them, the bush has now been removed as have the slabs. There are no issues with trusting our guests or visitors; however for various reasons including health and safety some things are locked. The Attic is padlocked because this is a private space which does not form part of the accommodation, there is no reason for guests to have access to it, and this has never been an issue before. The boiler is locked so the controls are not tampered with, particularly by small children; with new guests arriving once or twice weekly this can be a real issue. In the past we have had guests inconvenienced because the heating or hot water was not correctly timed or working as it should, not to mention the expense and hassle of having to send contractors to reset or fix the boiler. Should the settings and timing of the heating not be to the liking of any guest then we are very happy to adjust them to suite your routine. There are two large locked storage boxes, one in the garden and one in the bike shed, these contain cleaning products and other items for general maintenance such as paint, these are locked for health and safety reasons, there is no reason for guests to access to them, neither would we want young children to access the items contained within them. The bike shed at the rear of the garden is fitted with a padlock for the convenience of guests who wish to store bicycles or other items during their stay; the key for this padlock is hanging up in the kitchen and is clearly marked. We make every effort to make our guests stay as comfortable and safe as possible.
