Blackdown Hills an AONB, between Honiton and Chard, offer great walks and with Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, and Exeter all easily accessible.

Situated in the grounds of the owner’s Grade II listed, medieval farmhouse, they are in an excellent location from which to explore numerous National Trust houses, great walks and the cathedral city of Exeter. Also within easy driving distance is the famous World Heritage Coast, as well as the seaside resorts of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Beer, Branscombe and Exmouth.     Our 3rd stay at the Shippon.Really lovely cottage.Tastefully furnished and very spacious for two and really cosy with the fire on.It's so peaceful you can hear a pin drop.Very well equipped with everything you need.A generous basket of logs is left if you like to light the fire.Spotlessly clean as well! Would definitely return again!

    A fantastic cottage in a really quiet location, with lovely views. Very well equipped and much better than anywhere else we've stayed. Just a shame the local pubs had both closed down. At least 5 miles along country lanes to get to anywhere to eat.

    A beautifully converted barn with amazing views in a tranquil location. The hosts were very pleasent and I would strongly recommend staying here. The only thing that could have improved our stay would have been wifi as the phone signal is pretty bad and this made planning our days a from the comfort of the cottage a little difficult. That being said the digital detox was very refreshing ;)
