One of the best cottages we have stayed in and in a lovely quiet location with superb views. The owners have thought of everything to make any stay perfect. Would definitely visit again soon we hope.

The Barn was a very clean and finished to a very high standard. But found the upside down layout not as expected, the kitchen/ lounge were on different floors, which resulted in lots of running up and down stairs for evening drinks etc. Not suitable for the elderly or unfit.

A lovely peaceful place, very well maintained and even though it is next door to the farmhouse you still have privacy without feeling too remote. The enclosed garden area at the back of the property is an added bonus, we were able to leave the kitchen door open with the comfort of knowing our dog could come and go has he pleased. The welcome pack of essentials were thoroughly enjoyed and loved that they were sourced locally. Just one very small negative was the wooden stairs being slightly slippery for our dog (and this is just me being very overprotective). Overall we would and will recommend The Barn.

We have stayed in many cottages in and around the Peak District, and we all agree (including our 11 year old Beagle) that this cottage is one of the best if not THE best. As walkers and owning a dog this cottage has everything: Location - great walks from the door - so many to chose from and they all take you through different villages and country side. The cottage although very quiet an peaceful is near to civilisation and within easy reach of some other great destinations. The cottage - The owners have gone to great trouble making the cottage comfortable for their guests. The attention to detail is to a very high standard. The large double/king size bed made for a great night sleep. The lounge makes the most of the views from the cottage and it is also a great space to relax in. I challenge anyone not to play at least one game of pool after relaxing in the garden or in the great lounge! Garden - very dog friendly. We have not seen as many complimentary items from the owners in any previous cottages. When we arrived it took a while to realise just how many. Fruit/cake/milk/eggs/fruit juice/ bottle of wine, dishwasher tablets/washing capsules. There were even some healthy dog treats. The bread which was also included made for great toast. We were very sad to leave this cottage which we were made to feel at home in. We will be back -as there is still so much to do.. Thank you

Very impressed with all aspects of the barn and is one of the best we have stayed in. The welcome pack was very generous and the proprietor friendly and informative. The location is excellent enabling us to explore the local countryside from the canalside walks through to the Derbyshire Hills, with very little travel involved. I would recommend this to family and friends.

My wife and I (with dog) stayed at The Barn between 15th and 22nd April 2016 and it was, without doubt, the nicest holiday accommodation we have stayed in. It was in excellent material and decorative order, very clean, well equipped and thoughtfully provided with a very generous welcome pack and additional items for our dog. The owners were friendly people and the views from the property were most attractive. It would be difficult to fault it and we were highly impressed with the standard. We would most definitely stay there again if we were to visit the area.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walks straight from your door step with plenty of routes provided on maps in the cottage. We also visited several pubs in the area but found the best one to be the one 2 minutes away at the bottom of the track serving lovely food. The living room being on the second floor with nice views across the area worked well. There was also a welcome hamper of food ; wine, cake, mil, bread, jam etc... Would highly recommend.
