Beautiful views; very attractive property which is unusually spacious for two people, comprehensively equipped and spotlessly clean. The "welcome pack" is extremely generous and has been on all three of our annual stays to date. Plenty of eating out options; we'd recommend the Pack Horse, which is about a mile and a half up the lane towards New Mills, though there are many alternatives, including the Oddfellows which is only three minutes' walk away. Lots of up-to-date local information to be found in the very roomy and comfortable upstairs lounge, with its wonderful views of the countryside in three directions. A very tasteful barn conversion, with a shower/bathroom and a separate shower room. The husband and wife owners are also very kind and helpful.

The Barn at Mellor suited us perfectly. Location wise it was excellent to access public footpaths for dog walking. We found the Odd Fellows pub in the village was welcoming with good food and friendly staff. Marple Bridge had the river location, shops and places to eat + free car parking to explore the Peak Forest canal.

Totally exceeded expectations! Spotlessly clean, comfortable and lovely views from the first floor living area. Very spacious for a two person accommodation and well equipped. A great pub a few minutes walk away and lovely walks from the doorstep. Well located for exploring the Peaks. Very generous welcome pack and a warm welcome from the owners in their adjoining property. Our dog was also made welcome but you would never know on arrival that there has been a dog in the property. Highly recommended and I am sure we will return.

The Barn was a fantastic place to stay for our holiday especially with a German pointer. Walking around this area is a must. The accommodation was in emaculate condition and the views were stunning. The welcome basket was an unexpected addition that saw us through untill we could go shopping - it was very much appreciated. There was a great dog friendly pub at the bottom of the drive and the shops were a five minute drive away. There isn't really more we could ask for. If I were to be super critical I would make a suggestion to have black out blinds fitted in the bedroom. But all in all I would be more than happy to stop there again.

Had a lovely time at the Barn, we arrived late due to traffic, but the welcome pack meant that we could have a cup of tea and a slice of cake before we went to the pub nearby for a meal. There was even a bottle of wine in the fridge! The rural location suited us perfectly, but it does mean you have to drive to the nearest shops. The cottage is large and spotlessly clean, with a garden at the back overlooking fields. There is no broadband, but being high up, I was able to get a good signal on my mobile network. We would stay there again happily, and would recommend The Barn to anyone.
