This is a wonderful holiday cottage which fully lives up to its description and other reviews. It is very well situated especially for any one with a dog. Everything is to an exceptionally high standard and it is so comfortable. The views are amazing. The owners are very welcoming and there is an exceptional welcome pack. Worth noting that it is on a bus route and has two good pubs within walking distance! Overall, truly exceptional; thank you.

We've stayed in several holiday lets through various companies over the years, but this one far exceeded our expectations. The owners greeted us & were extremely accommodating & courteous. They also live in the adjoining property but gave us our privacy. The property is in a valley & offers wonderful views & walking routes straight out of the door. It is situated just outside of the Peak District National Park, but not all that far from many of the great attractions the Peak has to offer, including the Hope Valley & the famous Pennine Way to name just a couple. The major supermarkets are also around 20 minutes in the car, which I do not consider unreasonable On the day of arrival the owners provided us with a few "getting started" complementary provisions which included a nice bottle of "plonk" & fresh bread. The property itself is very well appointed although the layout is not the usual, but we got used to it very quickly. Vehicle parking is excellent, being right outside the front door. The living room is upstairs but very large & very comfortable & lots of information books & leaflets. There is also a Pool table - nice touch! Downstairs, there is a small lobby with a door leading to the 2nd shower room with toilet & hand basin........yes, I said 2nd. This property is 1 bedroom, but you get 2 bathrooms. From the lobby, there is another door that leads into the kitchen/dining room. Not big, but enough to suit the purpose. It is well appointed with all the usual equipment one would expect, including a dishwasher & microwave. Once again, very clean. There is a door that leads out to the enclosed garden area where we were able to let the dog out safely. Very important when you have a rather large & grumpy Doberman like ours! Back in the kitchen/diner, there is another door leading to the double bedroom which is large in size with a huge double bed & what we felt was enough storage for our clothing. Another door leads into a full size en-suite bathroom with shower over a corner bath, toilet & hand basin. I cannot rave enough about this property. As I said before, it far exceeded our expectations. The facilities, the general cleanliness, the soft clean towels (that actually do dry you!), the clean, crisp, fresh smelling bed linen, all perfect. Would we stay here again? Oh yes we would. There is so much more of the area we want to see, & this property offers us a great base to do this & the reason we have scored it the maximum 10 points in all aspects. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to the owners for making our stay & introduction to the area a great one.

I stayed at The Barn with my young son. It was just perfect for us. The owners left us a lovely welcome pack which helped. Then the cottage has a pool table, great views out the windows, lovely kitchen, bedroom (twin bed for us), TV/reading area, bathroom, and the location was great to go exploring key areas in the Peak District or venture over to the Trafford Centre near Manchester which we did on our way home.
