We have stayed at a few cottages and this has been the best. All the little extras from torches is you go out at night to umbrellas and wet or dirty boot tray by door makes this a well thought out cottages. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and located just off the main room so whoever is cooking can still communicate with others . The garden is lovely all enclosed with no one overlooking ideal if you have a dog, with both a back door and a patio door off the main room great if your dog likes to continually go in and out. Underfloor heating that could be adjusted to each room , quiet location extremely well thought out cottage made this an ideal holiday . Thank you Sarah you've got it nailed.

Very nice cottage, on a quite residential cul de sac. Well maintained, beautiful garden. Great central location to explore Dorset, Somerset and surrounding areas. Owners very nice and helpful.

Traffic noise from the A30 close by a nuisance. Underfloor heating not adjustable so we were either too hot or too cold! Property very clean and well equipped though. Proprietors easily contactable and helpful.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Upon departure we found the heating had been turned down to 10 degrees therefore this would have caused it to feel cold.

Fantastic cottage, plenty of space and well equipped. The Ship Inn next door was one of the best pubs I have ever been in, great beer and food - heaven.

Our family really enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable break in the Barn and would highly recommend it to other small families. There's loads of space and a lovely private garden so you don't feel claustrophobic, and though modern feeling it still retains some lovely original features and has a nice, homely and welcoming feel. It is very well furnished and equipped which makes it great to relax in and is one of the best cottages we've stayed in for self catering and eating in. We enjoyed many a good night's sleep and our young daughter found her room, the bathroom and garden really good and accessible which helped her independence enormously which in turn gave us a bit of a break too! Our welcome and departure were warm, friendly and straight forward - Sarah and her husband are very welcoming and delightful and helped us to really feel at home. They also very kindly sent on some belongings which we foolishly forgot to pack and left behind which was just great of them. Although not quite as rural a location as we normally choose to holiday in it was still very peaceful, private and relaxing and provided the perfect getaway. There are neighbours all around but in our experience they were very friendly, quiet and discrete so you would scarcely know. All in all the Barn provided a real home away from home and a great location to explore everything that Dorset has to offer.
