Fantastic cottage, plenty of space and well equipped. The Ship Inn next door was one of the best pubs I have ever been in, great beer and food - heaven.

Our family really enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable break in the Barn and would highly recommend it to other small families. There's loads of space and a lovely private garden so you don't feel claustrophobic, and though modern feeling it still retains some lovely original features and has a nice, homely and welcoming feel. It is very well furnished and equipped which makes it great to relax in and is one of the best cottages we've stayed in for self catering and eating in. We enjoyed many a good night's sleep and our young daughter found her room, the bathroom and garden really good and accessible which helped her independence enormously which in turn gave us a bit of a break too! Our welcome and departure were warm, friendly and straight forward - Sarah and her husband are very welcoming and delightful and helped us to really feel at home. They also very kindly sent on some belongings which we foolishly forgot to pack and left behind which was just great of them. Although not quite as rural a location as we normally choose to holiday in it was still very peaceful, private and relaxing and provided the perfect getaway. There are neighbours all around but in our experience they were very friendly, quiet and discrete so you would scarcely know. All in all the Barn provided a real home away from home and a great location to explore everything that Dorset has to offer.

We enjoyed our stay at The Barn very much, as my husband has just finished his chemo we needed a relaxing break and this property gave us this. It was very comfortable and the owner had provided everything we needed and more, it was very spacious and comfortable. The garden was lovely to sit at the table and read or just relax our little dog enjoyed it too, there is a lot of places to visit in the area also The Kings Arms in East Stour is a very nice place to eat.

Property is lovely. The only slightly negative comment is that the bed was not as comfortable as expected in a Gold rated home. Owner is charming and kindly left a few goodies for us which was appreciated. It was most unfortunate that builders were building an extension next door which was dirty and noisy, no fault of the owners

trouble with tv reception all week

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. The television signal was low, this guest informed us on the Wednesday evening that it was playing up, and that it had been since Sunday evening. Had we known sooner, we would have sorted out the issue immediately. As it was, I rang the aerial company and they came out on the Thursday morning, and put a new booster in the roof and it is now working as it should.

Good property but it was in amongst other 'private' properties. The only negative was that there could have been more cutlery instead of the regulatory 'four of each'. It did often mean having to do some washing-up amid having an evening meal etc.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. There are two sets of 4 place setting cutlery, one in the kitchen, and one set in the dining room sideboard, more than enough for 2 - 4 persons.

Lovely clean well equipped cottage and beautifully furnished. Welcome pack and Christmas gift appreciated. Lounge got too hot but owners are aware and investigating, but at this time of the year it's better to be too hot than cold.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, we are pleased you had a good holiday at The Barn and enjoyed what we have to offer in Dorset .The underfloor heating does take a little while to understand! It is set at 21 degrees as the heat holds in the rooms, an even temperature… not the same as gas fired central heating. The engineer and electrician have both been and checked the heating system and found that it is operating as it should.
