Great place to stay. It's a shame the fancy shower in the downstairs bedroom had no power to it, and the fire in the lounge didn't work. The travel cot only just fitted in that bedroom too - after shifting the bed towards the wall. It was lovely being able to have the whole family under one roof. Definitely keep on the list of places to stay again.

We enjoyed our stay but not full marks because showers a little variable and catering for a full house needed more oven space at times. Not always convenient to go through the downstairs bedroom to access the utility. We enjoyed the pool table and the spacious ground floor.

Weekend away with friends. Trouble finding barn on arrival as sign was not up (as per directions) and we arrived in the dark, no outside lights worked, except the one in the porch, which was a little worrying as one of my friends is 79 and walks using a stick. But once inside the barn, we were very happy with our choice, although it was very cold, we turned the heating up and within a couple of hours it was warm. my friend with walking difficulties had the down stairs bedroom which she said was very comfortable. The other three of us had a bedroom upstairs each, only trouble was the two bathrooms in one bedroom, we thought we each had a bathroom attached to our bedroom! The kitchen was very well equipped, not that we cooked! We booked a local taxi and had a great meal in the white horse inn at coleford on the Friday evening. On Saturday evening we had a Chinese delivered from coleford. On Sunday we went to Gloucester quays and visited the Christmas market. Our favourite place in the barn was sitting under the stairs enjoying the views of the garden and enjoying the sun coming in from the large glass doors.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend away at The Barn with my Brother and his wife who are visiting from Australia. An ideal location for exploring the beautiful area in and around The Forest of Dean. We all have fabulous memories to take away with us, including; a steam train trip on the Dean Forest Railway; a cycle through the wonderful colourful woodland around Mallard's Pike; the magnificent views from Symmonds Yatt Rock; a visit to Goodrich Castle with a guided tour through its amazingly rich history and not least, the wonderful friendliness and hospitality of the local people. The Barn is also ideally located for visiting the many pretty Cotswold villages. A perfect week's stay and wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely holiday cottage. Very impressed with the quality of the accommodation, exceptionally good value. The barn is a beautiful building that very much lives upto its pictures. We were a little surprised it is so close into the town and main roads. However the noise wasn't noticeable and it made it very convenient for travelling. There is plenty of space for a large family to all be together, with a large dining table, big kitchen if you want to cook and comfy lounge but also enough rooms to have some time apart when needed. The pool table was a big hit, and I'm sure if the weather had been better the large garden would have been too. For such a large property it felt surprisingly cosy and warm. Very good.

Large 4 bedroomed house in nice grounds with good leisure facilities (pool table, videos, books etc) on site, not to mention golf course next door! However, let down by noisy plumbing, small 4th bedroom with no opening windows, and limited access to toilets (4 bedrooms, 4 toilets, but two of which were in one bedroom!). If these were resolved, we would happily stay there again.

The Barn was such a spacious, well equipped, perfectly clean and comfortable place to stay for our party of 9. The garden was a pretty and peaceful area to spend time on sunny days with so much space for children to run around; and when inside the living spaces were large and airy and we enjoyed many games of pool! A great stay, thank you.

Owing to very good weather we were able to sit out for all our meal,in a large private, peaceful garden. The Barn is a lovely property, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable lounge. The dinning room also had a pool table, which was enjoyed by all, even though the cue tips were worn or missing. The main bedroom shower controls were ineffective, the water was really hot,so using it was uncomfortable. Overall all our guests and myself really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the Barn.
