Useful base for visiting our daughter in Selby. More isolated than expected with no mobile signal and no internet connection. Accommodation very good except for narrow bathroom due to sloping roof. Would have loved a downstairs toilet.

A lovely friendly welcome for us and the dogs. Cute cottage, on a main road. Enclosed garden for non-Houdini like dogs (fence abt 1m high). Low ceilings upstairs, fine for us but you wouldn't want to be much taller than 5"8'. Light and airy, nice and warm (NB read small print about the £15 winter fuel fee). Comfortable and well equipped. Couldn't get some of lights or dishwasher to work, hence score of 7. Left a note so this is probably fixed by now. All in all a great stay. Would definitely go back.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The fence has now been made higher. The winter fuel charge of £30 per week or £15 per short break is only in place between November and March. This covers full-time gas central heating in this period. For the rest of the year, the gas central heating is controlled via a timer and is included in the price of the holiday. We leave a drawer full of bulbs in the kitchen to cover every light in the house. If we had been told the bulb had gone, we would gladly have changed it for you and we could have helped with the dishwasher.

Relaxing peaceful break. Owners very friendly and helpful. Ideal base for moors, dales, peaks and the coast. Dogs loved the woods just down the road

Property is on a busy road with lots of motorbikes and farm traffic late into the evening and early starts in the morning. Microwave and window sills in the kitchen were a bit grubby and there were quite a few cobwebs about. Upstairs could do with a bit of tlc as there were a lot of finger marks on the walls and ceilings. Instructions for the cooker would have been helpful, particularly as the owner had not used it and did not know how to turn it on.
