Just 1½ miles from the medieval village of Cartmel, this charming, stone, terraced holiday cottage blends modern design, furnishings and appliances with old timber beams and stone walls, and a light and airy orangery, opening out onto a sunny patio and garden. Grange has hotel leisure facilities, beauty spas and golf courses. Cartmel with old inns, a medieval priory, a racecourse and quaint galleries has become a foodie paradise since Simon Rogan opened the famous L’Enclume and other restaurants, and there are food shops and a monthly food market. The cottage has woodland and fell walks from the door, and lies on the edge of the Lake District National Park, 5 miles from Lake Windermere. Grange enjoys a micro-climate, often several degrees warmer than the rest of the Lakes, thanks to the Gulf Stream, and has palm trees on the long promenade. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
