Lovely little old cottage with great view of Carisbrooke Castle from the deck outside the lounge. Quirky interior as its an old house that has been converted - so galley kitchen, but with fridge, washer and crockery storage in the dining room so you have to keep going backwards and forwards to prepare food. Stairs very narrow and steep. Lovely double bedroom with fireplace, and a small single. Owners are planning to extend though, so some of these quirks may disappear. Single car park spot, which is needed as parking on road would be difficult most of the time - it was usually packed. Location is very central so it didn't take longer than about 20 minutes to get anywhere. Helpful, friendly owners live next door and we had a 'welcome' cream tea with locally made scones and clotted cream awaiting us.

This was an excellent venue for a holiday. It's well placed for any part of the Isle whether for walking, cycling or driving. The cottage has the best view we've ever had (it's of Carisbrooke Castle) in the UK in any let over the past decade or so. It's very comfortable. The narrow kitchen and remotely located fridge would be a minor inconvenience if one planned to pass a holiday cooking!

Breakfast on the patio with a lovely view of Carrisbroke Castle . Owners extremely helpful. If you wish to explore the Island by bus this is easily done by a short walk and a ride into Newport Bus Station. The good weather contributed to a memorable walking holiday.

The Apricot tree is in a perfect place to explore the whole island, it is clean, tidy, very well equipped and has the benefit of having owners who live next door and are warm welcoming and extremely helpful. I will have no hesitation in booking to stay here again.
