The Apple House was amazing for our family. The garden, the terrace and the pool were brilliant. Garden was big and safe and the pool was warm and clean. Although the kitchen is a little restrictive (no oven and low counters) and the decor is not necessarily for everyone this did not take away from the overall great time we had. We have booked for 2 weeks next summer already!

My two children (boys aged 12,15) and I stayed at the Apple House at the end of August in to September, 2015. We had a lovely time although the weather was rather mixed. The Apple House was more than adequate size-wise. The living room and bedrooms are well presented and spacious, especially the main bedroom which had a lovely four poster bed. The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool was good fun. It is normally shared with the next cottage and it is your responsibility to clean it and cover it when you have used it! Having said that it only takes ten minutes to do that. Apple House is in a nice position geographically speaking. Bridport is 10 minutes away and the kids loved the beach and the arcade, not to mention the many fish and chip shops. Nearby Lyme Regis is gorgeous and well worth a visit. The only negatives I could find was the male owner who insisted we kept the front door closed all the time because his dog might wander in, which is not easy to do on a hot summers day. Maybe buy a lead for the dog? He also told me I couldn't have the log burner on in the living room because it wasn't cold enough. He was probably right but those decision should really be left to the paying holiday maker, I think. Especially when said burner is listed in the price. The other gripes are the electricity which you must pay after the holiday. For the three of us it came to £30. Maybe just find an average and stick it on the advertised price? The wifi was also very hit and miss and only accessible in the kitchen or outside near the owners house! The lady owner (sorry I forget her name!) was lovely and very welcoming. We would definitely stay again.
