Lovely cottage in very pretty location, but a little remote if you want to walk to a pub/shops.

We enjoyed our stay at Tanhurst Cottage very much. It's quite a strange little cottage with a quirky layout (the bathroom and little separate loo are downstairs while the bedrooms are upstairs), but we did appreciate having a double bedroom each. The owner was very helpful in meeting us and showing us around. Although the pictures make it look as though the cottage is detached, it's actually semi-detached, with the adjoining property not the owners' home. The location is good - although the cottage is quite out of the way, the access roads are fine, with none of the awful potholed muddy tracks that are the access to some holiday cottages. Leith Hill is very close, and well worth seeing, as is Box Hill - the views from both are lovely. Cranleigh is a pleasant little town within a 15 minute drive, as is Dorking. Recommended, especially for a couple.

Very attractive cottage. Marked down on score because of number of relatively minor points e.g no freezer capacity in fridge, beds only doubles, no toiletries, only very large cereal bowls.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your kind comments and observations regarding our cottage. We may well decide to change one of the double beds into two singles in the future but at the moment, it clearly states the current situation on the website. There is no freezer section in the kitchen fridge but there is a chest freezer, which would have greater capacity to hold food, without taking up room in the fridge. We do provide toilet paper, toilet cleaner and two hand wash dispensers but not shampoo. Guests tend to bring their own choice of shampoo, depending on their preference. Thank you again for your observations and we will continue to review our choices of facilities in the future.
