A lovely, characterful cottage in a perfect location. The house was warm and cosy and well maintained. The village of Broughton has several pubs, a great bakery, a post office and an excellent grocer and butcher. As dog walkers we found the walks in the grounds of Broughton Tower spectacular and only 3mins from the cottage. We would definitely stay again.

Second visit. Nothing changed since last time. Like the good sized kitchen. Was hoping the said ”Substantial outside area redecorating” Would have included clearing the patio….

A nice, well kept cottage in a lovely village. The cottage met our needs perfectly but the village lacked amenities.

Excellent base for southern Cumbria. Cottage has everything you may need. Pubs and a restaurant are only yards away. Highly recommended.

Such a cosy little cottage. Tastefully decorated, contained everything we needed for lazy mornings and comfy nights in. A perfect location if you want a quieter experience of the lakes away from the touristy area of Windermere. Great walks nearby too! Coniston only a short drive away.

I know the cottage was dog friendly but it really smelt of dogs. Could defiantly have been cleaner!!

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We have not previously received comments on a dog smell in the property. We do welcome dogs buts hope that customers are sensitive about where they are allowed in the house. The cleaner is now aware of this complaint. With regards to the location and the disheartening score of 1, we do provide as much information as possible to our customers prior to making a booking. Broughton is a lovely little town, within striking distance to the centre of the Lake District and most customers enjoy the town and the amenities.

Great location , beautiful park nearby for dogs . Cottage very tired and needed a good clean . Beds need updating .

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We are disappointed with the score you have given in comparison with our other and usual high scores. Cottages4You’s Regional Manager has just completed their annual grading for the property and we have maintained our 4 Star rating. We also substantially redecorated at the end of 2014 which included the outside areas. The beds and mattresses are under two years old but we understand that the comfort of mattresses is a matter of personal preference. I am sorry to hear that the cleanliness was not up to our usual standards which I will take up with our cleaner.

Wonderful cottage, very cosy, offered us everything we needed. Lovely location, village offered shop, bakery, butchers and a good selection of pubs plus a nice cafe. Will recommend.
