Description

Petrockstowe village is the home to this traditional, detached house, with fields leading to the Tarka Trail, beaches at Woolacombe and Sandymouth easily accessible.

With parts dating from the 1350s this beautifully restored, detached holiday house can be found on the edge of the North Devon village of Petrockstowe. The charming exterior is matched by the well appointed, comfortable interior. Every effort has been made to retain the charm of a house of this age but also with modern conveniences required by discerning guests. There is a large landscaped garden with a pond and is ideal to either find a quiet corner or have a run around. There is also 25 acres of fields to use that lead down to the Tarka Trail which is great for cycling or walking. In the village there is a charming pub and playground, both within walking distance of the house. The house is ideally suited to explore the charming North Devon coast and countryside, there are stunning beaches at Woolacombe and Sandymouth. Enjoy a day out at Hartland and visit the lighthouse, Hartland Quay and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. If gardens are of interest the R.H.S Gardens at Rosemoor are a delight and there are numerous National Trust properties in the surrounding area to enjoy. The towns of Great Torrington and Bideford lie close by with most amenities, as is Bideford’s quay where visitors can book a trip to Lundy Island. Slightly further afield is the Dartmoor National Park. Beach lovers will delight in the wide sandy beaches, the nearest being the Blue Flag beach at Westward Ho! The Milky Way and The Big Sheep will fascinate the younger ones. There are several local pubs nearby, with the nearest in the village serving real ale and home cooked food. Shop 2 miles, pub 500 yards.

Beautiful cosy cottage with bags of charm and in a beautiful setting. Our party of 6 used both reception rooms and we especially love the separate 'hidden' wing containing separate lounge/bedroom and bathroom (used it as a bridal suite!). Lovely dining space to fit all of us and breakfast in the kitchen was perfect for the mornings!

The cottage was beautiful with lovely outside space and garden, in a lovely location. However, it could have done with a little TLC as the chairs and sofas were well worn and a few light bulbs weren't working when we arrived. The beds were very comfortable and clean and we all slept well although again the bedrooms could have done with a good "freshen up". We chose Sincocks farm because it had Wifi but quite frankly it was a joke, it never worked!! The phone signal is non-existant. The freezer in the outbuilding with the bird droppings was definite issue for us.The barbecue was in there too and should have gone out years ago too. It was awful! There was no user guide for heating/water or information on where to find anything.
