Magnificent Chatsworth House and Gardens, Haddon Hall, Hardwick and Kedleston Hall are just a short drive as are Alton Towers, Gulliver’s Kingdom and Carsington Water, should you require a more exhilarating or energetic experience during your stay. The Peak District National Park is renowned for some of the best walking in England. The Manifold Valley Trail starts only a few yards from the farmhouse and runs to Waterhouses via Ecton, famous for its tin mines. Here, a show can be taken in at the opera house or stroll along the lovely Victorian pavilion and gardens. Antique and craft fairs together with a farmers’ market are often held here.
