An excellent little two bedroom cottage. Just outside St Austell. Within easy reach of the main roads to the rest of Cornwall. It was obviously recently decorated, with new soft furnishings. The living room is well stocked with distractions for children on a wet day, lots of DVDs and a good selection of board games. The kitchen has everything you'd need. All three beds were comfortable. The shed contains crabbing lines and a few nets. Plus some body-boards for beach visits. The garden slopes a lot, but is large and our two children enjoyed running around out there. There is a large Ram in the field above who appears to want to be petted and is very friendly. The property is surrounded on two sides by steep woodland. With only one clearly visible neighbour, above on the southern side. The only negative is the use of storage heaters for heating. So nice warm mornings and cooler evenings are to be expected. However there are two fires, one open in the living room and one small enclosed burner in the kitchen, to compensate if you do get cold.

We had a lovely week at Sweets Close. We stay at cottages in Cornwall twice every year and have never been let down, but this was definitely the best one we have ever stayed in.

We had a most wonderful time at Sweets Cottage. Very clean very well equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable break. A very warm house with really nice open fire. Sofa's and beds really supportive and easy to sit and sleep in. Carol the housekeeper came by shortly after we arrived showed us the rounds and called on the phone several times to ensure we were ok. The owner Lizzie has gone to a lot of trouble to ensure our visit was as enjoyable as possible. Polgoot is a lovely area very quiet and The Polgoot Pub is a real jewel only 10 min walk away. We certainly hope to visit again within the year.

Had everything that we were expecting, including local amenities that supplied all essentials. Excellent base location for exploring around the St. Austell area.

We had a really lovely stay! We enjoyed the house, super beds, everything what you could need is available. The fireplace was light on rainy days or at night and our dog lovend the fenced garden. I would recommand it dearly!

Better than the photos, it was more than we hoped for. Recent, stylish renovations with a seaside theme, give all the clean and comfortable rooms a fresh and delightful look. Well-equipped and well-organised with everything you need (including instructions) and a folder of suggestions for walks and things to do. We were just two adults so we spread ourselves out but it is a family home so a family of 4 plus dog would be fine. The well-tended property is found in a magical, peaceful setting with lawns and trees all around it. The friendly, local house-keeper is there for you but not in your face. An excellent base for touring the area plus the Eden Project and Heligan.
