Description

A great coastal base for a small family wanting to disover this area with beautiful beaches and traditional seaside attractions.

Nestled in a quiet side row, Sweet Pea Cottage, a semi-detached property, provides a great coastal holiday base from which to explore the local area and, while its location is quiet, it has lots of local facilities and conveniences on hand. Named after a 12th century Lord, Heacham is situated on a coastal area known as The Wash and is in the heart of lots of beautiful beaches and tourist attractions. For all the fun of the fair, you can head to Hunstanton where the beach seems to literally go on for miles, and you will find a small fairground, traditional seaside amusements and a Sea Life Centre. Norfolk Lavender, Caithness Crystal and Langham Glass are all close by and also within easy reach lies the city of King’s Lynn with its historical old quarter and guided walks. For a traditional seaside resort, you should head to Wells-next-the-Sea, with its narrow gauge railway and picturesque quay. In fact, it’s a great place for pottering, enjoying the mix of traditional and artisan shops and numerous places to eat. Add in National Trust properties and stately homes such as Holkham Hall, great walks and cycle routes, golf courses, bird watching and wildlife viewing opportunities, you will quickly see why this part of the Norfolk coast is so very popular. And, after enjoying interesting and fun packed days out, you’ll be glad you chose cosy Sweet Pea Cottage to relax and unwind in. Shop and restaurant 10 yards, pubs and restaurants 600 yards.

We have travelled the world booking places to stay including New Zealand, Australia, Tasmania and throughout the UK and this is without a doubt a star item in our book. Upstairs floors creaky but otherwise absolute satisfaction in every respect, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Sweet pea cottage is a beautiful cottage that is very well presented. Spotlessly clean and every room so pretty, cosy and inviting. My two children loved the bunk bed room and the king sized bed is very comfy. We love heacham, a quiet village with plenty of walks around and ideal to explore surrounding areas. RSPB Titchwell marsh is a must as is Brancaster beach and Wells next the sea just a short drive away. I will definitely recommend this lovely cottage to family and friends.

The only issue I had was having my car blocked in on the drive by the builders who were doing work on the building opposite but they did move it when you asked them to.

Beautiful cottage in a nice quiet area with lots of amenities on your doorstep. Lots of places to visit in the area without having to travel too far. A little bit more attention could be paid by the housekeeping team as not quite as clean as other cottages I have stayed in. Although the cottage is well equipped and this is probably me just being picky, crockery is mismatched, cutlery very cheap and all sorts of shaped glasses but no sets and only one wine glass! There is also a village hall next door which on three afternoons and evenings whilst we were there had dance lessons going on. Unfortunately this meant that sitting out in the lovely little garden was not possible as the music coming from the hall as so loud. All this said, it would not stop me staying at Sweet Pea Cottage again.

Really enjoyed our stay at Sweet Pea Cottage. We found the floorboards upstairs rather creaky, we were a bit nervous that it'd wake our toddler at times, but he slept really well! Very clean cottage, with a simple, enclosed garden. Location was good, pleasant & quiet but not a lot to do in the village itself. We would definitely stay again.

Although it's small, the cottage offers enough room to relax and spend a day inside if needed because of the weather. The garden is lovely, safe for small children and lots of birds visiting. The conservatory is really nice, it provides spaciousness and light for the living rooms and is a great place to read if it rains. If done reading, there is a big tv with dvd and various games. Our 1 year old enjoyed the different rooms (3) and garden as well and there was a small table with chairs for him at the conservatory. Note that the second bedroom is small and the kitchen as well- i wouldn't recommend it to 4 adults that are culinary enthousiasts. The beach is at walking distance, so is the Tesco Express, a bakery and busstops: there is a Coast Hopper that brings you to Hunstanton, King's Lynn etc if you don't feel like driving yourself. The cleaning team is real friendly and nearby if you need them.

We did enjoy our break in sweet pea cottage, it was very clean and cosy and done out to a high standard! The location was excellent we would recommend the fish and chip shop and the Indian across the road and a ideal for when visiting all the other coastal towns. The only thing I would say is that having stayed in many holiday cottages I have never had to buy my own toilet roll, we had 1 roll provided to last us 5 days and there was no hand wash in the bathroom and a bit of washing up liquid would also be helpful. I couldn't seem to find a welcome book either with all the local information and instructions how to use some equipment. Other than than that everything was lovely.
