A lovely tardis-like dormer bungalow, with decent furniture and fittings, clean and well presented, with comfortable beds (I loved the full cotton bedding - most places have polyester and I so appreciated the very pretty soft cotton - thank you Yasmin). I had three concerns: the noise from the road, no bedroom windows due to conservatory going all across the back of the house (I slept with bedroom to conservatory door open - I have COPD and need a lot of fresh air!) and no spare bedding handy in any of the cupboards - a worry if sick or have an accident, spill anything as no electric dryer to get linen washed and put back on beds within the day. We were comfortable warm, mum in law loved it, and husband and I were able to sleep separate as we do at home, cos I am a restless bad sleeper - so he was sent up the paddle stairs to the lovely bedroom in the 'attic' which had its own loo - perfect! Despite the closeness on either side of neighbours you are not overlooked in the conservatory or house. The garden was beautiful and well kept and the sparrows front and back were a delight! The welcome cake and flowers are a lovely touch - again thank you Yasmin for everything. We would happily have gone again and in fact was looking forward to it - but Swangate is stopping being a holiday home and going to long let after Christmas - I hope the new folk enjoy it as much as we have. The marking of local amenities at 8 is not derogatory - there were no amenities and that is what I wanted - I live near a supermarket and a golf course and sundry other things in easy reach - when I go on holiday I want to be 'out of the way' the further out the better! That said Ringwood is an excellent little town and is no more than 5 or 10 mins by car to the centre, parking, shops etc. We are really sad that we won;t be able to stay at Swangate again ...

Great location, spacious and beautiful garden. Could do with sprucing up, several items broken and cleaning of cottage could have been more thorough.

A really lovely location and a beautiful holiday let with the most incredible garden and views. Everything we needed for a great holiday was here. Many thanks to Yasmin. Lovely places to eat nearby. The Crown Inn and ThenWoolpack are particularly good and dog friendly too.

Great location, lovely garden where the kids enjoyed chasing butterflies and nicely decorated inside. Tavel cot for the youngest was very handy and the kitchen was well equipped. Bed upstairs was a bit creaky, the tv had not been tuned in in the bedroom and there were a few dog hairs on the rugs and bed valance but only nitpicking. We enjoyed going to Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton, Paultons Park, Brokenhurst for a bike ride and a trip to Marwell zoo.

We've stayed at Swangate for the last 10 years, it has always been lovely but we have found that in the last couple years the standard has deteriorated, which is very sad to see. We have had many very happy family holidays there, but unfortunately we will not be returning, as we have been advised, that it will no longer be let as a holiday rental. We are very sad to say goodbye to Swangate and its very beautiful garden.

Loved the garden and it's birds. So many young birds fledged while we visited -it was almost like spring watch !!

Our family enjoyed a holiday with grandparents and the bedroom arrangements worked well for this, giving grandparents seperate space upstairs. We all loved the peaceful and spacious garden and 2 indoor seating areas (conservatory and lounge). Plenty to see and do in the area - New Forest, Bournemouth, Moors Valley Country Park. We had a great week and recommend this cottage.

Lovely bungalow. Took my 4 year old grandson and my nephew and neice, ages 15 & 13, together with my sister. Initially I was a little worried about the road at the front of the house because I thought my grandson might run out onto it, although there was a side road inbetween, however, the back garden and conservatory more than compensated for this, it was lovely and the children really enjoyed playing in it and it was very safe and secure. Great location, just on the edge of the New Forest, a short drive away. Great pub nearby, The Elm Tree, lovely meal there. Lots of food shopping options with Lidel up the road, Ringwood up the road. The steps upto the loft bedroom was ok for us, my nephew, aged 15, loved this for his own space. However, my grandson was not allowed to go up there because we thought he might fall down them as they are quite steep. Facilities in the bungalow great, a real bonus having a ensuite in one of the bedrooms with great shower, separate bathroom and in the loft bedroom separate toilet facilities. Overall a great stay and we definiately would book this again as it fulfills all our needs.

we had a great stay at the house, plenty of space for up to 6 adults, with a lovely conservatory and garden, which felt secure for children and pets, Good range of equipment and furniture as well as kitchen facilities, could benefit from changing the mattress is double en suite room as it was a little uncomfortable, However as a group of friends sharing the accommodation with a puppy, we could not fault it and will return one dsy
