This property is ideal for groups who wish to explore the scenery and discover wildlife at the Isle of Skye.

Sunrise Cottage, as the name suggests, benefits from the morning light. Guests can watch the sunrise over Loch Caroy and the Cuillin Mountains, which light up the whole glen. The cottage, located on a working croft with cows and sheep, has been sympathetically renovated keeping many of the original features, offering home from home comforts. Situated within this peaceful, scattered crofting community, the area is home to a variety of wildlife, including eagles, resident hares, red deer, otters and so much more. There are many places of historic interest close by, such as Dunvegan Castle, coral beaches, Dun Beag Broch and Feorlig Chambered Cairns, which is a 2-minute walk from the cottage. It is a good base to explore all parts of the island which has so much to offer for the outdoor enthusiast – hill walking, fishing, boat trips, kayaking, pony trekking, as well as the opportunity to discover the many craft/art galleries for a more relaxing time and to be awestruck by the dramatic scenery. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

This is the third time we have stayed in sunrise cottage and we enjoyed it just as much as the other two times. It is a great central location for visiting all that skye has to offer but is also remote enough to provide the feeling of getting away from everyday life. The cottage itself is cosy and has everything you might need. The downstairs bedroom still has a very uncomfortably soft matress, despite numerous comments from guests but the beauty of skye makes up for the minor failings in the cottage. We always go out of season so the value for money is good. I have no doubt we will visit again.

The cottage was clean and well equipped. It was quiet and relaxing for a break. The lack of landline and no mobile phone signal concerned me as I was travelling with elderly parents and a child. The internet was free and worked well. The spiral staircase could cause problems for some people and the isolated situation would not suit everyone. However the cottage overall was fine and I would stay here again.

No Hair dryer No Hand towels No Blinds in the upstairs bedrooms on velux including kids rooms. Had towels trapped into velux windows all week to block light. Especially as light most of the night in Scotland at that time of year. One decent wine glass. I used a small whiskey glass all week. Awful DVD collection of only a few DVDs Outside furniture. One filthy table and two chairs not fit for use. Kitchen Table sticky and no cloth . Be better with an oil cloth No downstairs heating and hardly enough fuel for one log fire Pull cord in bathroom was disgustingly dirty! Kitchen filthy I washed it all down on arrival and put everything through wash Fitted sheet on bed didn't fit and came off about 5 times a night. Mingling crispy waterproof cover underneath. Fuse blew and had no lights downstairs rest of week Was glad to shut the door and leave

Great location and could be a great cottage but let down by general grubbiness. Kitchen needs good clean and fridge freezer leaks water and is rusty. No welcome pack info book to help navigate heating system etc. Drive into cottage very unwelcoming full of weeds and no sign, not even sure we were at right place! Been to several cottages on Skye and sadly this did not match the photos. Also other guests have raised some of these issues as far back as 2014! Sack the cleaner and get good info book put together.

Comfortable cottage with good views. Superb stove. Handy location, close to the 'main' road but far enough not to be a problem. Could be a little more welcoming(no welcome pack or message). Upstairs roof light has no curtain so be prepared for early starts if the sun is out.

Great location, lovely view, true to its name. Ample sleeping space. Well-functioning WiFi. Poorly designed heating situation and sadly inadequate fuel to light a fire when we arrived; this wouldn't be an issue in the warmer months. Basic comforts present but it was not evident that they had gone out of their way to welcome guests. The available amenities were reflected in the price. Would stay again if I was constrained by available funds.
