The cottage was comfortable. 2 of the main things we want are a comfortable sofa and a comfortable bed. This cottage had both. It is well situated, not being right in the centre of town but not far outside and well located to get to other places. The cottage had everything that we needed and as we wrote in the visitors book if we needed to stay in the area again this cottage would more then likely be where we would stay

The cottage is certainly cosy and the central heating keeps it nice and warm. The kitchen is well equipped but a slightly larger toaster would have been helpful. We were also a little surprised that there was no soap. Not a major issue but most cottages we've booked over the years provide it.

A cosy cottage which suited our 3 adults and a dog very well for 2 nights. Arrival arrangements and communication with owner extremely good. Plenty of linen, towels, hot water, etc and the bed & pillows were really comfortable. The village is easily accessible from the motorway and close to various towns but was very peaceful and not one car passed by on the road during the night. The courtyard at the back is perfect for sitting out and good dog walks with no other person in sight (even our anxious dog was happy). The pub a few minutes walk up the road is excellent, really good pub grub and lovely people. There is another pub a bit further by foot but we didn't get to that one. We are moving from Somerset to Derbyshire, hence the visit to sort out a place to live, and loved the friendliness of everyone we met.

The cottage was well equipped and generally clean. They had obviously recently had some building work, because we found brick dust in some areas of the kitchen, The washing machine was a quarter full of stagnant water, which was a surprise when we wanted to do washing. The cottage was very small and I can't see how 4 people could comfortably stay in the cottage. We also had a dog and was relieved to see the courtyard garden was very secure. We wouldn't visit again because it was just too small, but for a couple with no pets this might be a perfect retreat. The overall feel is, although there is everything in the cottage EVERYTHING is the bare minimum, except the bathroom which was great.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We weren’t aware of water in the washing machine and we do usually check, so our apologies. Without having further information on what was meant by providing the bare minimum, I cannot act on this. I agree that the cottage is small, we had no option on the sleeps 4 - we actually think it should be a cottage for 2, however as we provide a bed settee, the holiday companies advertise it as sleeping 4.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The instructions for all appliances were in the drawer above the TV; however we will add this in the welcome booklet, thank you bringing this to our attention.
