Description

Adjoining Penny Croft (ref JSM) perfect for two couples wishing to holiday together in this peaceful location.

Peacefully set in 2 acres of lawned gardens, these four beautifully furnished and extremely well-equipped holiday cottages enjoy excellent walks straight from the back door. Sunny Croft (ref JVZ) and Penny Croft (ref JSM) adjoin one another and boast superb views from their elevated position, whilst Meadow Croft (ref OMY) is attached to the owner’s 17th-century home and Abbots Croft (ref OL8). Each cottage has a plasma TV, a mini CD player and its own terrace with beautiful views.
This is an area with lots of character, with hills that beckon the walker. For cyclists, the Afan Argoed Forestry Park, rated in the top ten in the world for mountain bike rides, is within easy reach. Spectacular drives over the inter-valley roads give amazing views, while the rich, rolling land of the Vale of Glamorgan offers many castles, interesting churches and manor houses to explore. The nearest sandy beaches are 12 miles, and the Gower Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty famous for its beaches, magnificent coastal scenery and rich birdlife, is easily accessible.
Caerphilly is easily accessible and is famous for its magnificent castle and the crumbly white cheese which is widely available throughout the town. The capital, Cardiff, is well worth the visit and is an easy and compact city to navigate, with the River Taff flowing through the heart of the city. The Millennium Stadium sits happily alongside much older buildings including the castle which gives the city a vibrant and cosmoplitan feel to it. Tennis, riding, fishing and golf nearby. Multi-screen cinema, restaurants and shopping complex 3 miles. Village shop/P.O. 2 miles, pub serving home-cooked food (prebooking advisable), 100 yards.

Large living room with electric ‘log-effect’ fire and stable door to patio with super views. Modern, well-fitted kitchen with dining area. Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

A lovely cottage set on top of a hill with breathtaking views and very private, could do with a few Pyrex/glass bowls for cooking in microwave, otherwise really comfortable and would highly recommend

A beautiful cottage with superb views over countryside with the added bonus of a pub/restaurant opposite. Cottage is immaculate with very good quality furnishings. Our only disappointment was only being there for four days as we would have loved to stay longer, especially as the weather was so good. Lovely owners also who were very helpful in giving us ideas on where to visit. We will certainly visit Sunny Croft again.

Great place, great location, well kept, clean and tidy with everything you need. It is fantastically located next to the M4, with a large shopping centre nearby. It is a great location for mountain biking and golf etc. The landlords / hoteliers were fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning. The views from the outside area / garden over the valley are absolutely outstanding. There are also lots of great walks right outside the cottage.
