A lovely quiet Christmas away in a home from home. Wonderfully accommodating and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you would have or need at home at all at arms length. A little difficulty finding property in the dark due to sat nav diversion but once you have your bearings very easy to get to and a lovely surrounding. Would definitely stay again :)

Great area. Nice modern cottage. An annex next to owners. Owners belongings taking up room in wardrobes. Felt overlooked

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking time to provide feedback – it does help us in trying to improve the service and accommodation we offer. We are genuinely disappointed that your expectations were not met. We are very pleased to be able to offer accommodation that allows people to visit and experience the ‘great area’ we are living in and this is afforded to us and our guests by the unique ‘location’ the property provides – rural outlook and feel whilst being within 5miles to major town and easy access to major routes should wider travel be required such a Gloucester, Bristol, Newport and Cardiff – notwithstanding beautiful Wales which has so much to offer. I hope the fact the property is an annexe didn’t come as a surprise as we feel this is clear in the property description and photos provided. This is of great benefit to some, especially those that may have special circumstances. Privacy is of great importance to us and we make every effort to not intrude or adversely impact guests with our family or animals, but are available should guests need advice or just want to have a friendly chat. We are disappointed that you felt overlooked too. The annexe is not overlooked by the sole neighbour nor do any of the main house windows overlook the property. We are mindful and conscious of the shared drive and garden area and are respectful of privacy in those areas. You are the first guests to comment on the wardrobe space and that there are items within. The majority of those items are for the cottage – for example DVDs and books that we rotate and offer guests if they ask. We acknowledge that a small amount of storage is lost due to boxed items which we will address with immediate effect – we hope you weren’t inconvenienced too much, and would have hoped you would have spoken directly to us to enable us to remedy any issues during your stay. People’s expectation on comfort and equipment is very personal but we make every effort to provide a high standard of fixtures and fittings and do ask guests what items are missing and what could be provided and take action accordingly. Thank you for staying at Sun Cottage and enjoying the beautiful area we live in.

We loved Sun cottage. It is perfectly equipped with everything you could need, in a great location that is rural but close to amenities and places to go. And to add to that Lee and Emma are lovely and happy to help with anything you might need. Would definitely recommend!

Sun cottage is comfortable, cosy, warm and very well equipped. It is quite spacious for 2 people. Although a short drive away from shops, pubs and restaurants etc, it is situated in a lovely position with a good view of the Severn Estuary. The owners, Emma and Lee are very friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. We both enjoyed a peaceful, relaxed week.

I was completely relaxed! I didn't mind the rain because the cottage was comfy I was quite happy to stay in and read or watch a film. It's close to many great places to walk. Also, close enough to Chepstow for shopping or sightseeing. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. I plan to go back but for longer. I can't say enough about how lovely everything was.
