Situated in the heart of the Broadlands, wildlife in abundance, this is a great base to discover the Broads and north Norfolk.

This lovely barn conversion is tucked away down a country lane, in the heart of Broadland, enjoying glorious views across open fields. Summer House Stables offers spacious and a thoughtfully furnished interior, as well as a large enclosed garden, complete with a hot tub. The village of Catfield is located just 1⅓ miles away, and offers a local shop and pub. Set amongst a gentle and tranquil rural landscape, dotted with ancient churches, wind pumps and nature reserves, this area of Norfolk offers a wealth of opportunity to enjoy walking, cycling and bird watching. Nearby, How Hill Nature Reserve with its marshes, meadows, woodland and open water, is well worth exploring. Riverside pubs and cafés are plentiful and a number of Broadland centres offer bike and canoe hire - possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and their abundant wildlife. Visitors can also hire boats at nearby Potter Heigham just 3 miles away, or take a cruise from bustling Wroxham, the capital of the Broads. Close by, BeWILDerwood, a magical tree top park, promises children a day to remember, and lovely dune backed sandy beaches are a short drive in Sea Palling.
For lively family fun, visitors need look no further than Great Yarmouth with Pleasurewood Hills theme park, whilst Cromer also offers traditional seaside entertainment including a renowned end of pier show. Bygone museums, craft centres and National Trust Blickling Hall are all within an easy drive, as is the medieval city of Norwich, with its magnificent cathedral, castle, galleries, museums, cinemas, theatres and excellent shopping. A little further afield on the north Norfolk coast, seal watching boat trips can be found at picturesque fishing villages, many of which also boast pubs and restaurants serving superb, locally caught seafood. Fishing is available along a stretch of the River Ant, 2 miles, by arrangement with the owner. The pretty village of Ludham, just 2 miles away, boasts two pubs and a good range of shops. Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

Visited during the visit from Siberia, of the Beast from the East. The property is sited in a wonderful location, deep in farming land, and exactly what we had hoped for from the description given. If you want delivery mopeds turning up with your phone ordered food, THINK AGAIN. If you want a relaxing, away from it all break, look nowhere else. YES we have every intention to return, property shared with friends, for a few days, who were as equally impressed as we were. Well furnished throughout, underfloor heating means you return to wonderful welcomed atmosphere, having endured fantastic walks. Edward the host was available if needed, but not over bearing. Overall if you want a get away, seriously consider the property. A wonderful stay.

A lovely peaceful property. All on one level for the less mobile (2 steps up to entrance doors and gravel courtyard). Patios on 3 sides (2 with large wooden tables to seat 6-8) for all day sunshine if the weather is favourable. Comfortable and ample sofas with 6 TVs (1 in every room including kitchen & 2 in living area so kids can take a games console if they wanted). Kitchen is large with triple apect windows and cooker is large. Garden is large, private and to lawn with a nice fenced area for younger children and a decked area with table n chairs for another seated area. The living space is large and also benefits from triple aspect windows and doors so nice and bright. There was a hot tub on hire (No extra charge) while we were there and it was a welcome addition. Especially at night when if clear you could take in the stars with no light pollution. A trip to the coast is not too far away, or 10 mins drive up the road you can hire a day boat for a trip on the broads. For provisions a Tesco is 10 minutes away by car. Early risers may see the deer. A couple of minor negatives. Seemed to have a lot of spiders (may be time of year Sept) and some attention to cleaning dust webs could be better. Although not overlooked, some privacy blinds to the toilet and bathroom windows or at least frosting to the glass would be better. Overall though nicely appointed property which is peaceful and quiet if your looking to get away from it all. We would certainly go back ☺

We had a wonderful stay at this newly renovated barn. Everything has been thought of, a real home from home with beautiful finishing touches. We made full use of the hot tub, BBQ and enjoyed a couple of games of croquet. If you get a clear evening the sunsets are just amazing. We also went fishing on a stretch of the river just down the lane but make sure you take your insect repellent! It is in the middle of nowhere, so you will need to use a car everywhere you go. There is a lovely butchers in Hoveton which sold an huge choice of BBQ meats and the steak was amazing. There are many lovely beaches within a 20-30 minute drive. Can highly recommend Sea Palling and Mundersley, and if you are happy to do without any amenities and park in a lane then Waxham Beach was very quiet. The owner was very approachable and friendly. Thanks Edward for a great stay.
