In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

A small open plan property ideal for short breaks. It’s in a great place to enjoy an active holiday, with walking, a golf course and horse riding over Dartmoor available nearby.

Located in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park

Situated within the Dartmoor National Park, set back from a beautiful, leafy stretch of the B3212 and a mile from Doccombe, these three, lodge-style properties (refs W43911, 28924 and 29495) are adjacent to the owners’ home and The Studio (ref 29495) is a small open plan property, ideal for short breaks. The holiday lodges lie in a lovely setting that offer a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. There are 10 acres of beautiful, ancient woodland, complete with a stream winding its way through the land, plus wildlife ponds, granite boulders and a 3-acre field, (which is ideal for exercising dogs) and pheasants that come knocking at the door to be fed. A rich variety of plants and woodland flowers offer an idyllic haven for the resident wildlife. This is a brilliant area for walking, relaxing and star gazing as there is no light pollution. Nearby, a golf club and horse riding over Dartmoor are available. Being in the midst of Dartmoor, there are many superb walks, reservoirs, heather-clad tors and Dartmoor ponies. There are many places of interest for the whole family. If you are a keen walker, the Teign Valley is well known for its delightful woodland footpaths. It is an area of outstanding beauty and in the springtime, the Dunsford woods are famous for beautiful natural daffodils and a little later, a carpet of bluebells. All three properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 7 guests. Exeter is only 10 miles. Beach 14 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with French doors. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Oil panel heaters and electric heaters included. Electric hob. Combi microwave/oven/grill. Small, enclosed gravelled courtyard with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (1 car). NB: Stream in grounds, 50 yards.

All properties: Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freesat TV. DVD. Wi-fi. Fridge. Shared 10 acres of natural woodland including 3-acre field for exercising dogs. Cycle store. Natural water supply from spring. Welcome pack. Pets to be kept on a lead. No smoking.

We had the most amazing five days away in this beautiful studio. Perfect for a relaxing week and very cosy. The studio was very secluded and not close to very much but it didnt stop us from going on lovely country walks. The place was clean, tidy and the owners were very lovely. The cake on welcome was a lovely gesture and I would like to thank the owners for a wonderful week away. Very relaxing and peaceful, I didn't want to leave. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay in the studio. Really cute place and lots of things to do nearby. The owners dog Alfie was a sweetheart too, took a shine to me and waited every morning at the gate! We will definatley be back and possibly stay in one of the other lodges as I didn't realise the studio didn't have an oven but we managed to come up with plenty of other dinner ideas using the hob😀 All in all lovely little home from home. Plenty of wildlife too.

Beautiful little cottage ideally situated in quiet woodland. Very welcoming owners, very helpful and friendly. Perfect location for a peaceful, relaxing break. Ideal base for us and the dog, for the long daily walks we went on exploring Dartmoor.

Comfortable but but fairly basic, lacking in amenities such as a decent cooker and no washing machine despite providing an iron and ironing board. Location OK but would not recommend if intending to tour as it's location means negotiating some narrow twisting roads each journey. On the positive side, dog friendly and a large comfortable bed. Plenty of wild life to keep you interested.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with some aspects of your stay at The Studio and were upset to learn that you felt you had made a mistake with the location. We do advertise The Studio as ideal for short breaks as it is small and so we cannot provide all the amenities of our larger properties. However we do offer as many home comforts as we can in order to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. In reference to your comments in regards to the roads, although we are on a main road to Exeter, to reach some of the beauty spots for which Devon is famous does unfortunately mean sometimes negotiating narrow lanes - however it is well worth it when you get there!
