Lovely, quirky and creaky one-of-a-kind cottage, just the way we like it - if a bit on the small side. Very conveniently located for those wishing to explore the Forest of Dean. Shops are to be found in Lydney or Coleford, a drive of about 15 min. It's on the first floor (so not suitable for everybody) of a very old and impressive building with immense grinding stones just below you. Gotta love those beams! Two bedrooms, one with double bed (definitely in need of a new mattress) and one with 2 singles. Tiny bathroom with a good shower. The kitchen and living room share the same space, which works fine. Equipped with practically all of the stuff one needs (except for a dishwasher). Apparently there's a limited daily amount of hot water to be had. Good off-road parking space. The road which runs past the property is not a very busy one, mostly used by commuters, we assume. Nice garden is accessed via an arch and offers enough space to sit and to relax. It should be noted that mobile phone use is very limited due to a weak signal, as it is for the surrounding area with a radius of some 3 miles. The owner is a very friendly and helpful lady.

Lovely location, great base from which to explore the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. No wifi or mobile signal available at the property which for us added to the peace and tranquility of the location. Lovely owners and very helpful and knowledgeable. Only very slight negative is the enterance/exit of the property when exiting the visibility onto the lane is non existent so you have to edge out very carefully.
