Lovely cottage, with an unusual edge to it. Being a former railway station, built at the end of the Victorian era, adds interest and makes it a great place to stay. The conversion to a holiday cottage has been done well but it retains enough of its originality, inside and out, to maintain its history. The owners are extremely welcoming and the standards of cleanliness, comfort and equipment are all very high. We had to leave early, due to medical problems, and so were not able to visit the local area. This is the reason I cannot give a sensible score for that but I believe it makes a great place for a holiday and would like to return, using the same cottage, when we can.

We loved the tranquility of this converted station set amid beautiful farming countryside and very near the River Wye. Comfortable and cosy, very well equipped, and very clean. Within walking distance to local gastropubs, and within 20 miles of many historic sites and towns. We are definitely returning next year.

One of the best cottages we've ever stayed in - just couldn't fault it in any way. In a beautiful location, spotlessly clean, well equipped with everything you needed. Everything about it was of an extremely high standard. Fabulous welcome from the owner, and very generous welcome pack. A very relaxing break, we will definitely return.

Great welcome from owners who leave you alone to enjoy your stay. But if needed are only a phone call away. But mobile signal is a problem but thats the fault of phone companies and no reflection on the house. Lovely and peaceful grounds for dog to explore. Thanks to owners for allowing a dog to stay. Please book this house if you want a lovely peaceful stay to relax. Best check on Google Earth for exact location as satnav from postcode takes you into Ballingham village. But directions given with booking gets you there.

Station Cottage was a great place to stay, had family time there for my 60th birthday - we loved it and Tilly the dog too. The pub down the road (within walking distance) was excellent and even provided a special meal for my 2 vegan kids - would highly recommend

A very nice, attractive old station, in a secluded position. There is a long, two level garden, on the old platform and the old train line, enclosed so good for children and dogs . It's quite spacious inside, and comfortable. A god pub within walking distance.

A wonderful unique cottage. Of the 20 I have stayed in it's the first I would not hesitste to revist. Dog loved it, people friendly, right near the wye. It has some history to it which makes it interesting and plenty of peace and little noise.
