A delightful sandstone cottage adjoining the Stag Inn. A converted stable with modern furnishings in the delightful village of Dufton.

Walkers of the Pennine Way will be familiar with the pretty village of Dufton and the Stag Inn at the heart of the village. Stag Cottage adjoins the Inn and both are owned by the same family. The delightful sandstone cottage has modern furnishings which compliment the features of this converted stable. The Inn itself is a traditional pub which dates back to the turn of the 18th Century, it is a Free House serving real ale with a reputation for good food, you can choose from the pub menu or a la carte, it also has the benefit of a beer garden. Dufton lies in the unspoilt and lesser known beautiful Eden Valley on the Western edge of the Pennine Hills, with an abundance of walks and cycle ride’s from the doorstep. A five minute drive will take you into the historic market town of Appleby where you will find more amenities, including shops, restaurants and pubs plus golf and fishing. The Eden Valley is an excellent touring base as it is sandwiched between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. You could also venture into Northumberland and explore Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish border is just beyond. All these hot spots are within an hours drive.

Ground Floor: Heated by Oil central heating, the accommodation comprises:
Lounge/diner: With TV, DVD, and CD/radio.
Kitchen: With electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge and microwave.

First Floor: Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, WC and wash basin.

All fuel, bed linen and towels. No cot available as there is not enough room in the bedroom.Outside: Lawned garden looking towards the Pennine Hills with seating. Ample parking. Laundry facilities are available for a small charge.

    We found the cottage warm and cosy although in need of freshening up and a new frying pan. Bedding was immaculate and the staff at The Stag friendly and helpful. An ideal holiday spot especially if you take dogs.
