Welcome Cottages

Lakeside, seaside, countryside, hillside...wherever you can picture your perfect cottage, you'll find it with Welcome Cottages!

Set amongst woodland, this cosy single-storey cottage is within easy reach of beaches and close to a reservoir.

On-site facilities including swimming pool

These beautiful cottages have been tastefully renovated from a traditional Welsh barn and are set in the heart of Pembrokeshire alongside the Llys-y-Fran Country Park and reservoir. There are plenty of facilities available for guests free of charge, including croquet and badminton, a heated covered swimming pool, all-weather tennis court and a children’s play garden. You can also enjoy the country park which is less than a minute’s walk and has a 200-acre reservoir and an impressive 100ft dam, the largest game fishing in west Wales. This is a beautiful woodland setting with a delightful nature trail for both walkers and cyclists, and an 8-mile perimeter trail providing fine views and a variety of wildlife including badgers, foxes and otters. The broadleaf woodland provides a breeding site for sparrowhawk, buzzard and woodpecker, whilst the lake attracts uncommon water bird species such as little gull and black tern. Set in the heart of Pembrokeshire, giving access to beaches, national park, the historic Preseli Mountains and the worlds famous Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and Coastal Path. Within a short drive is Oakwood Theme Park. A holiday in Pembrokeshire would not be complete without a visit to the picturesque harbour and the golden beaches at Tenby or the busy resort of Saundersfoot, a complete contrast from the more secluded parts perhaps, but always popular with children. Also within a short drive are Manor House Wildlife Park, Caldey Island, with its cistercian monastery and countless historic castles such as Carew, and Pembroke. It is an ideal location for a perfect family holiday as a getaway or for trying some of the outdoor pursuits and entertainment. Pembrokeshire is famous for its excellent restaurants and pubs. In the immediate vicinity there is the country park restaurant and two pubs serving food in the village of Clarbeston Road (3 miles). Golf and horse riding are within 5 miles.

Lovely cottage well equip and has everything you need, the log burning fire place was perfect for a chilly damp day. The owners were friendly and helpful but left us to it. Bonus is the swimming pool which was always kept at the right temperature. We didn't use the games room but when the weather is warmer I can see us using it more often. My two children (age 8 and 4 at the time) enjoyed using the playground and football pitch. Just behind the cottages is the Llysyfran Reservoir perfect for a walk and cycle. The closes town is Haverfordwest where you will find major supermarkets for stocking up food.

The cottage, although small, is extremely well equipped. The interior has been attractively furnished and is very welcoming. Our grand-daughter made very good use of the pool, and even though it was October, the pool was warm and inviting. Both the owners are helpful and friendly with lots of local knowledge. We will certainly be visiting again.

The most relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting among stunning landscapes. My wife and I (with dog in tow) were slightly concerned as we had originally booked a secluded cottage near the beach which we subsequently found didn't take dogs (our mistake). Stable cottage was booked as a last minute thing and was on a farm along with a number of other cottages which had been restored. However the layout was such that interaction with the other guest was as much or as little as you wanted. The owners are on site and could not have done more to make us feel welcome, even down to offering me a bottle of their own wine when I asked for directions to the nearest shop and throughout our stay they were always available for any help or advice. The cottage itself was clean and tidy and had all the facilities one would expect. The surrounding countryside was beautiful. It was a perfect holiday and we will be returning again perhaps with a larger group of friends.
