Customers’ Choice Award 2016, 2017 & 2018
Only 5 minutes’ drive from Dover and its famous white cliffs, or bring your passport and sail across to France for the day.

Enjoy a relaxing holiday surrounded by countryside in these barn conversions which have been decorated and fitted to a very good standard. They are situated on the owners’ working arable farm, and guests are welcome to use the footpaths crossing the farmland. Take a few steps back in time to the year of 1193 AD when you view the abbey ruins, once bustling with French monks. During the dissolution of the monasteries, Henry VIII had many stones removed from the abbey to build his fortifications at Deal and Walmer. Follow in the monks’ footsteps, (today a 20 minute car journey), and take a trip to Canterbury. Dover is 5 minutes’ drive, ideal for day trips to France or to visit its castle and admire the famous white cliffs. The properties are perfectly situated for walking and bird watching, with several good sandy beaches close by. Monks & Flint barns are adjoining. The Stables & Nell’s Barn are detached. Shop 1½ miles, pub 2 miles.

All on ground floor. 2 steps up to living room with French door/dining room with wooden floor/kitchen with tiled floor. 2 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin with additional pull-out single (5ft 9in long). Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Low beams throughout.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Digital TV. DVD/CD and small library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. 1 small dog welcome. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. Please note: Unfenced pond 50 yards. This property has a security deposit of £250 (Christmas and New Year).

Very happy with our holiday - it was a lovely location and very convenient for Dover Castle. The medieval ruins are a picturesque setting.

Just what we needed as a family of 5 after stress workweeks. Peace and quiet in a nice, cosy barn.

very well equipped plenty of crockery and cutlery so could use dishwasher every couple of days without running out of plates etc. very clean, very quiet. Hosts very welcoming. Very convenient for easily getting to Dover and all routes out. Could have done with more comfortable outdoor seats as can't really sit and read comfortably on bench/table especially if have bad back. Super

One of the best holidays we've had at Flint Barn. Loved the barn so much, so well set up with everything you could possibly need well on holiday. Clean and tidy, by far one of the best cottages. Perfect for families, friends or romantic getaway. Lots of close by places to visit, wish we had stayed longer to see it all.

My wife commented that this was perhaps the first place we have stayed where the place looked better in real life than in the pictures. The setting was lovely and the lady who owns the property was clearly very committed to ensuring her guests had everything they needed in order to have a good time. Some of our friends were a little surprised we were going to Dover and I have to admit I was a little bit nervous myself as with 3 children in tow we needed to have plenty to do to keep them occupied. We found out that there is plenty to do in the area and there are so many places within 25 miles or so you can go to a new place everyday. We visited, Margate, Ramsgate, Hern Bay, Whittlesee, Dover and Canterbury during our stay and with so much variety there was little time to get bored. We took our dog with us and as well as many dog friendly beaches nearby there are some lovely walks either directly from the barn or within a very Short drive. Evenings were spent in the barn which was really well equipped and a very nice space in which to spend some time with the family. Many thanks Nigel, Nikki, Sam, Gareth and Toby

The barn cottages are well set out around a grass and gravel square and it's very quiet with privacy for everyone. The reason I didn't give a 10 in all questions is because there isn't a very local general shop, although there is a local pharmacy and post office and a superstore Tesco a couple of miles away. Obviously, there are lots of amenities in Dover - the castle is brilliant. It was cold at night as you would expect in April and so I would have liked more blankets or a warmer duvet. There is a woodburner and very efficient central heating. So, overall, the barn is excellent.

Beautiful barn, full of character in a peaceful setting. The location was great for children, they were able to explore and play in safety. We had an amazing time.
