A wow factor property, the downstairs was huge with a great kitchen/diner area, great place to socialise as it also had a pool table and arcade sized games console! Kids loved it. Heating wasn't perfect 1st night, it is a big property to heat with underfloor heating, but 2nd night was fine. Definitely, a property you will remember for all the right reasons. Also a great location if you want access to the Brecons and some lovely walks.

I would absolutely stay here again. We stayed as an extended family group and were all very impressed with the property. The conversion has been done very well and to a high standard. The property is light, spacious and we couldn't have asked for any more from our stay. The kids (and grown-ups) loved the pool table and we all agreed we would love to return one day soon.

Me and a group of friends stayed here for a week long board game holiday - not your usual holiday, but absolutely perfect for what we wanted! The building - amazing, really unique features, very clean, comfortable and generally just great! Really felt like a home away from home. And the pool table was a bonus! Location - peaceful, we went to the waterfalls near by which we're a lovely short walk away. Sadly the bakery mentioned in the guide book doesn't seem to be there anymore, but the corner shop was useful and there are bigger shops a short drive away. Complaints - don't get me wrong, I definitely want to come back! But I do have one complaint... As mentioned in previous reviews, the heating is confusing!! It took around 2 days for it to actually warm up and the starting £25 ran out very quickly on the metre. Me and my friends agreed that we'd prefer to pay a little more for the stay to have the metre/heating already sorted for us. But overall, staying in the St Albans church was a great experience, I highly recommend it for big groups wanting a peaceful trip away :)

There was 10 adults stopping at this property over the new year week , we all arrived at different times . Four of us arrived first when we entered the property we were just gob smacked ,one word fabulous . The first thing that greeted us and will stay with me for a long time was the very small Christmas tree in the lounge !!! JOKE it was massive and just wonderful ,we didn't think there would be one as it was not a Christmas themed property on the website . This was a standing joke with the other 6 persons staying here when they saw the tree and the accomadation they were staying at for the coming week was they couldn't believe it either we were all thrilled . There was nothing we could pick fault with ,the kitchen was well stoked with cutlery ,crockery ,oven proof dishes ,glasses even cleaning spray to clean surfaces and sinks after us . Which in my opinion is rare never normally see that when we rent in the past . The pool table was a big hit with the men ,also the arcade machine we had loads of pleasure out of both ,great asset to this large property I looked over reviews before going away to the church ,people mentioned the church was cold ,don't know what they are talking about we were the opposite ,we were all saying how hot we all were at times we were sweating and over that new year week the hit -5 in this area . I could go on and on about this church conversion , but all I can say is we all loved it and didn't want to leave it was fantastic . Would we all go back again YES in a blink of an eye it was fantastic !!! Last words the people are so friendly ,they made us so welcome and the Wyndham pub on the corner was brilliant ,we went there most nights for a few drinks even spent New Year's Eve there we were all in fancey dress think we gave them a laugh !!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful property we us Best wishes Jane

Overall a pleasant stay. Fridge is small for the size of the church perhaps there could be a extra fridge in utility room. No BBQ, this was not a problem but it did say there was one. Water pressure not good for showers. These are not complaints but observations.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We thank you for your response. We have only been asked for a larger fridge once in 4 years, however to accommodate we have added a new fridge and new freezer situated in the utility room.

We were pleased with the actual house - but the grounds were overgrown when we arrived on Friday and the owner was not able to get them cut down until Tuesday so we were unable to use the outside facilities. Also there was rubbish and bottles left outside and bins were left unemptied and were full of maggots. this was a great shame as we really liked the house and the space and facilities inside. Also the water pressure was a problem and we were not able to have baths / showers / dishwasher going at the same time as there was not enough pressure - so a pump would be a good thing to install to improve the water pressure. But overall it was a lovely property and the drawbacks, I believe, were where people had let the owner down.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We have recently employed new gardeners who visit the property 2 times a month. Due to the council changing their collections to 'every other week' we supply 4 large bins with lids for the guests, some guests leave the lids off which is why they get to heavy or dirty to empty or carry to the gate. Which is why we have a maintenance manager collecting them every week. As the property is situated in a low pressure area we have added a pump to the boiler which has helped but still not enough to have everything running.

The chapel has masses of space for large parties. The large kitchen complete with pool table was a great hit. Cleanliness was ok but could do with a bit more attention to detail and beds a bit jelly like. However overall good value for money given the large size and number of bathrooms. Treherbert itself is a little run down and limited but very soon you can be up on the hills and there is a lovely walk to the waterfalls.
